Excellent base for local walking
Liked: Excellent Spanish style breakfast. Super helpful host. Rural and simple but charming family guest house. Ideal if you want a quiet getaway from the usual tourist haunts
Liked: Host is super kind. Prepared the breakfast for us. The room is very clean.
Disliked: There is no super market nearby. The breakfast is served with bread and biscuits. If the guests will have a long activities. It might be a good idea to prepare snacks ahead of time.
A cozy and clean base for exploring Picos de Europa
Liked: The house is located in a convenient area for exploring the surroundings and is easily accessible via wide, comfortable roads from both Leon and Oviedo. The breakfast is good, and having a kitchen available for guests is a lifesaver (especially after walking all day). Furthermore, David (the host) is kind and helpful—if you aren't sure where to go, he can provide excellent recommendations. The establishment is quiet, cozy, warm, and above all, very clean. The rooms (I stayed in a twin room) are spacious with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Although the bathroom is small, it is well-equipped with towels, shelving, and a shower/tub combo, along with a sink and toilet. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the Picos de Europa National Park area. However, a car is absolutely essential for getting around.
Sol del Mediodía was a serendipitous find, the geography, the house, the welcoming. I am going back!
