  Bedbugs 😖

  Disliked: I stayed at Apartahotell La Espandana, room 411, from June 3-6 2026. After the first night I discovered a number of red itchy marks on my body. After the second night I discovered even more red itchy marks. After the third night I had a lot of red itchy marks on my shoulders, the inside of my arms, my ankles and a few other places. I have now been to a doctor who has confirmed that the red marks are bites from bedbugs. This has been and is a very unpleasant experience after I probably brought bedbugs into my apartment via clothes and bags, which now need to be sanitized. I have send an email to the hotell but have got no answer. Lars Tonneman Sweden

  Pet friendly stay in a quiet location

  Liked: NIce hotel in a quiet location on the edge of the town of Rota. Its a short drive into town or there is a bus every half an hour from just outside. The beach is a short 5 minute walk through a pine forest. We had a small apartment with living space, bedroom, terrace & a small kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean but the kitchen is pretty basic, not really designed for full meal cooking, with only a microwave & 2 rings. The hotel has a American style Tex Mex restaurant which was not to our taste, they also serve breakfast which we didnt have. There are other restaurants within a short walk. Hotel is pet friendly with dog bed & water bowl provided. There is plenty of free street parking and the hotel also has secure gated parking area for €9 a night.

  Disliked: Checking in. Even though we were the only people checking in, it took half an hour of form filling by us & keyboard bashing by the male receptionist. I had paid in full through the booking.com app but even so, the receptionist insisted on having my card number, expiry date & CVV number to "check with his records", something that I was entirely unhappy about.

  not a place i will go to again with a dog

  Disliked: i asked the reception if dogs where aliowed in the resturant, since its classified as a dog friendly hotel. I got yes when i called prior to the stay and i also got yes talking to reception. We arrived to the resturant, with our tiny chihuahua in a bag and got chucked out. No dogs allowed in resturant but we got offered to sit outside on the patio, it was 4 degrees and pit black...really. so not as dog friendly at all--- and you had to pay 30 eur for the dog...

Good to know

At the beginning of May, the town of Rota holds its Spring Festival, which takes place in the venue next to the Apartahotel La Espadaña . During this time, the Apartahotel La Españada cannot guarantee guests the tranquility it would usually hope to offer.

Please note that all extra beds in the hotel are double sofa beds.

Rental of safe: 2,50 EUR per day

When traveling with pets, please note that an extra charge applies:

30 EUR per pet per stay (stays 1 or 2 nights)

50 EUR per pet per stay (stays from 3 to 5 nights)

10 EUR per pet per night (for 6 night stays or more nights)

A deposit may be required at the property.
