Lovely apartment but Fixable Issues spoilt overall enjoyment

Liked: The apartment is spacious, clean and has a lovely large terrace with great views. The pool is large and the surrounding gardens well kept. The location is excellent being close to the beach and the chiringuitos.

Disliked: The apartment is really good BUT there are several issues that should have been addressed before our arrival - after all we were paying top wack. 1. The air con unit on the terrace and in one of the bedrooms leaked water badly over tiles. This made the flooring very slippery and dangerous - especially with young kids. 2. The pergola over the terrace was on it's last legs. One of the main support legs was rotten and not fixed down, also a couple of the cross beams were also rotten. This meant that an awning could not be put up as any wind would collapse it - in hot July this was essential. 3. The parosol provided was broken at the winding mechanism point and although it could be raised, was bent over. 4. The fridge was too small for the apartment size and the door kept springing open. Poor. 5. The extendable clothes drier on the terrace came off the wall when first touched. I had to do a light repair and also put up a longer washing line. This is a really lovely spacious apartment and I would definitely go back but the above issues should be sorted before renters come in. Admittedly, the pergola is a bigger problem but the cost should reflect all the above issues. Oh, and it is described as "Front Line" - it isn't!! It is set a couple of hundred metres from the beach with many high rise apartments/ houses in front.

We really enjoyed our stay. We would go again

Liked: The host contacted me before my arrival and arranged to meet me at the apartment. Very well organised; the host was very helpful; the house had absolutely everything we needed and was very comfortable.

Disliked: The swimming pool was closed. It only opens in summer. It was very disappointing

Family Holiday - Las Brisas, Salobreña

Liked: Fantastic apartment, just a couple of mins stroll from the beach, and just 5-10 mins walk from the main town of Salobreña. Lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, and loads of interesting places to visit in the area. We all love this apartment and the location - we've visited a couple of times now, and will hopefully do so again in the future. There are some really great restaurants and tapas bars in Salobreña, and we found all the locals to be friendly and welcoming. El Cuesta, Casa Emilio, La Galera and the churros place in the market were particular favourites of ours (although there a literally dozens of cafes, where the standard of food is generally good and the value for money, particularly with the free tapas, is quite honestly amazing). In addition to the beach (which is lovely), and the beautiful old town (and castle) on the hill, the commercial part of Salobreña has all the shops / services you could need. We also found a really good municipal football pitch and basketball pitch on the other side of the town, which the kids loved. There is also a really well equipped sports centre (near the bus station) which has tennis / padel courts / indoor swimming pool / football pitches, etc. Just make sure you take some ID (and details of the apartment address) when you first visit in order to register. It's easy to get around on the local bus service, to visit the likes of Almunecar, Granada, Motril and Nerja (which are all well worth a visit or two), so having a car's probably not even necessary - however, it obviously gives you even more freedom if you do.

Disliked: It's a quiet apartment block, with a mixture of residential and holiday homes - which is great from our perspective, but does mean that you have to respect the rules that are in place. For example, the hours of the Siesta need to be observed, and the pool is only open for limited hours. That didn't cause us too many problems, as it's actually pretty nice to have some quiet time in the afternoon (when it's hot), or to use the time to go down to the beach (or out to visit somewhere), but it's something you should be aware of.
