The uncontrollable room heating lead to the worst hotel night that I have ever had

Liked: The B&B hotel in Sant Cugat: Positive points: - Very friendly and helpful staff - Pet friendly and our dog got a really nice "doggy present bag" - Room was good - plenty of space - The beds were comfy - Great proximity to the Tesla charger site. - Cheap enough - Good parking with a trailer - Their hot-drinks machine in the lobby is free (note that I did not say drinkable).

Disliked: After an 11 hour drive and coming down with the flu, I was really keen to have a good nights sleep. Sadly the following negative points leading to the opposite: 1. I booked 2 single beds. I got 2 beds that were pushed together with 1 large duvet over both!!! - Strange and a bit pointless. I should have complained but I was not well enough to do so. 2. The AC heated the room... Constantly. This was the MAJOR issue of the whole stay. Even when fully off it continued to produce blistering heat at over >33°c… (at 01:00 I took a few photos with a thermal camera to verify the temperature) The room was like an oven and sleep was impossible! I actually tried to lie down on the cold bathroom floor tiles to cool down from 01:00 to 02:00 (and this whilst I was coming down WITH THE FLU!!!) I finally risked opening the window but with no insect nets or even net curtains fitted, this allowed the local mosquito population fee access to the hot room that they obviously enjoyed almost as much as they enjoyed drinking my blood. (7 bites!) 3. I would recommend avoiding the "coffee" from the free hot drinks machine. It is undrinkable... I will try the hot chocolate next time around. Room for improvement: For any stays at the future, I will pack the following to improve our experience and make this one of the hotels that we would use every year: 1. A fan to pull colder air into the room. 2. A large insect net that can be used to keep mosquitoes out of the room. 3. Some plastic material to block off the heater vent. 4. A roll of duct tape - Used to secure the insect net and AC/Heater block material. 5. A large can of insect spray to ensure that the room is free of anything that will bite us.

It was ok, cost of stay didn’t justify the quality

Liked: Big room, bed fairly comfortable

Disliked: We noticed a flood about to come through ceiling which we let people know about. It had clearly been building up. Furniture quite tired everywhere. Very expensive for the overall experience and location. Breakfast less than average for the price though noted I was able to get gluten free bread and cake on request.

OK to stay for a night

Liked: Spacious parking included in price. Clean rooms and toilet/shower. Very large terrace. Cooled drinks and fresh fruits are sold in the lobby 24h. It's a cheap B&B so there's nothing special to expect from it, but it's OK for undemanding person.

Disliked: The breakfast isn't something to write home about, it's definitely not worth the price. I would recommend spending a little more time and find a cafe or restaurant nearby. In my room there was a bunk bed with no ladder to the upper level, and the upper bunk was tilted. "Funny" situation: I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge in the lobby and came to the receptionist to pay for it. She offered me the POS terminal and only after I had paid did she reveal that there's a water cooler in the dining area where I could get some water for free.

    Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Everything was unclean. We just stay 1 night, and we claim for the rest of the nights refund. We couldn't stay there.

    Hotel with Tesla Supercharger

Liked: A hotel away from the city noise, with free parking and a Tesla Supercharger just 100 meters away; there is a train line a 10-minute walk away that connects to the metro. This was very helpful, as we were there during the eclipse; we took the metro and then the Montjuïc Funicular, and we were in a great spot. Free coffee and water.

Disliked: The truck that regularly supplies the hotel stopped illegally across the parking spaces and failed to properly secure its rear door, which then hit our car. The driver refused to provide his insurance details. It could have been a pleasant experience, but it was ruined by an employee who knows nothing other than driving.
