Good
Liked: The communication with the owners was good. They were friendly, responsive and took our complaint seriously. After we raised the issue regarding the cleanliness, they came to the house and cleaned the areas we had pointed out. They also offered us a refund for one night, which we really appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and the location of the house is quite good.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the main issue for us was the cleanliness. We know Tolox very well and have been coming here for many years, so some dust, humidity or the occasional insect is absolutely not a problem for us and was not the reason for our complaint. What bothered us was the actual dirt we found on arrival: dirty kitchen cupboards and drawers, hairs from previous guests, dirty kitchen fronts and kitchen equipment and utensils that had not been properly cleaned. We felt so uncomfortable with the condition of the kitchen that we did not cook there during our stay. To be fair, the owners reacted very well when we complained. We send them pictures, they came to the house and they were very understanding. They cleaned the kitchen again and offered us a refund for one night, which we really appreciated. However, in a holiday rental I expect everything provided for guests to be properly cleaned before arrival – not only floors, bathrooms and visible surfaces, but also cupboards, plates, cups, the coffee machine, toaster and other kitchen equipment. Another important point is that there is no air conditioning on the top floor under the roof, where the two single beds are located. The air conditioning on the other floors works perfectly, but does not cool the top floor. It was too hot to sleep there, so our third guest had to use the sofa bed downstairs, which unfortunately was damaged. This should be clearly mentioned in the listing. I hope the owners take this feedback positively because they were genuinely friendly and helpful. With more attention to thorough cleaning and clearer information about the air conditioning, the experience for future guests could be much better.

A peaceful escape surrounded by nature, with a well-kept property that had everything I needed
Liked: The property was super well equipped and had everything i needed for a comfortable stay and felt really safe throughout. Location-wise, it was ideal: not far from Marbella or the coast, but still tucked away in the mountains for a peaceful break with some beautiful views.
Disliked: The street outside is a narrow one-way, and there aren’t many clearly marked spaces. That said, it’s typical of most small villages in Spain, and once you get used to the idea that you might need to park a little down the road, it’s honestly fine. Never struggled to park and honestly wasn’t an issue.
Nice location at lovely mountain village
Liked: Impressive spanish small mountain village. We stayed at the end of Dec - it was a bit chilly outside, but with heaters inside we warmed quite fast. This apartment has few floors - ground is big living room with kitchen, above it - one bedroom and wc, and next floor- bedroom with entrance to big terrace at balcony. There was more than enough space for us. At our stay we didn't have wifi - but then we got tip that in river across street there are turtles - impressive finding for kids! Host was very talkative, answered all questions very fast. Parking is free on the street near, if we return till 6pm- there were always a space free. There is no big shop in village (only two small ones).
Disliked: It would be nice to have more tableware (especially forks).

Liked: Location was good. Very quiet. The terrace was nice.
Disliked: The view is not so great but it’s ok for one night. A bit too expensive for what you get.
Cozy apartment
Liked: Cozy, very nice apartment with all the amenities you might need. The bed is super comfy. We liked our stay very much. Communication with the owners was perfect, we found the place without any problems. The town is hilly, the people are nice, we had a tasty meal in el rincón restaurant.
