  Recommended. Quiet, warm and safe

  Liked: Central location just off Grassmarket. Bed was very comfortable. Basic, but perfectly acceptable furnishing throughout. Nice outlook from the windows on either side of the property. Clear and professional communication before entry and exit, simple and stress-free. Would be happy to return in the future.

  Disliked: No complaints - better than expected.

  Amazing location, great value!

  Liked: Location and overall accommodations were a value steal!

  Disliked: The finishes are a bit tired. Could use a refresh and extra pillows and blankets.

  Liked: I love this little apartment, so well located for a single traveller, very secure. Its great having cooking and washing facilities. A view of the castle as well.

  Disliked: The apartment did have a bit more of a musty smell this trip, I understand this can be due to wet weather and having the apartment closed up for warmth. It was just a bit more this time. The view of the castle is getting obstructed by trees so not quite as good as before. There is some noise from people passing on the Wynd and in the stairwell but not too bad.

  Very comfortable except for the stairs and relaxing and quiet

  Liked: the view of the castle. the location put you right in the sites area. Bed was great. Lots of space.

  Disliked: The 44 steps up but there was good steps and a railings. Carrying large suitcase could be a problem.

  Comfortable, spacious and fairly well equipped apartment in a very central location

  Liked: Comfortable and spacious apartment in a very central location, close to the amazing Grassmarket. Also good wifi and a well-equipped kitchen.

  Disliked: Access was not so easy, with many steps up or down to the apartment building from the nearest streets with vehicle access, and then more steps up to the apartment. Also a few things in the apartment itself could be improved - e.g. the old TV and some faulty things in the bathroom. These things were disappointing, given the price we paid.

  Property was as described, really great website and responses from the management team at Calton

  Liked: Central location and as a top floor flat was quite. It was open and airy, well fitted out kitchen and plenty of storage space. Checking in and checking out procedure really straightforward, as for the instructions to get into the flat.

  Disliked: Carpets need replacing and could do with a simple repaint refresh
