Liked: Excellent location, very helpful staff, and a great base for visiting Edinburgh

Disliked: We were in a double room which was quite spacious. A queen or king size bed would have been ideal

Liked: Excellent hotel in a great location The hotel is in a fantastic location, with a 24-hour reception and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The building is beautifully maintained, both inside and out, and everything is spotlessly clean. Our family room was extremely spacious and comfortable, with an immaculate bathroom, an excellent shower, a large desk, a fridge, and tea-making facilities. Another great feature is the convenient luggage storage room, where you can safely leave your bags on the day of departure. The only minor downside is the street noise, which makes it difficult to sleep with the windows open at night. Overall, an excellent hotel and a great choice for a family stay. We would definitely recommend it!

Disliked: Disappointing breakfast arrangement despite good food quality Unfortunately, the breakfast arrangement did not match the description on the hotel's website. Instead of having breakfast at the hotel, we received a voucher to eat at another hotel or restaurant. While the quality of the food was very good, the choice was extremely limited. We could only order one dish, with no buffet or opportunity to choose a variety of breakfast items. For example, cereals or toast with jam were not available as part of the breakfast, and even an additional slice of toast with butter would have cost extra. We also had to wait around 40 minutes for breakfast at 9 a.m. because the other hotel was very busy. We specifically chose this hotel because we expected a breakfast buffet with a wider selection of food. Had we known about this arrangement, we would have preferred to book a hotel without breakfast and eat somewhere else at our own expense. We feel this should be clearly stated in the hotel description on Booking.com, so guests know what to expect before booking.

Quite little property in the middle of an active city

Liked: We really liked our room which had two separate spaces - 1 large room with a double bed and 1 small room in the side for a single bed. The room had a great floor to ceiling ratio. It was very spacious and clean at all times. The property has limited facilities like they have no in house meal service. But staying in Edinburgh you dont really miss that. The staff was always available to help and we really enjoyed our stay. All major sites are within walking distance and great shopping.

Disliked: There are stairs in the front which can be challenging with large suitcases.
