Liked: Location and transport accessibility. Very friendly staff.

Disliked: Bedroom faced main road and whilst earplugs are provided with a note that 'noise is everywhere' and cognisant that it is a busy city together with double glazed windows, it really was traffic noisy late and early. Would have been good to have been informed ahead of this or when booking so that alternatives or a request for a rear room could have been sought. The room was very cold even with the temperature turned up and no spare blankets provided, only dressing gowns. The outer window was slightly open for ventilation but not reachable to close. The bed was as hard as a table top and would benefit from additional mattress toppers as too the supply of variable pillow firmness. The ones provided were like sleeping on rock. A thick autumn/winter blanket on the bed would be a good addition. The TV did not have accessible streaming from own account. The staff were extremely friendly and the location is walkable from Waverly station, very close to trams/buses and a great position in which to explore other areas. It is behind busy Princes Street too. We booked for one night and this is a good hotel choice overall. Whilst mattress support is individual, a few adjustments would make comfort even better.
