  We would definitely stay here again!

  Liked: The room is well decorated and comfortable. We loved that it was on the ground level with a yard out the window. The bathroom was clean and modern. There were water bottles and instant coffee for us. There was a fan provided which was nice when we got warm. The breakfast (though not free) was wonderful and we enjoyed being able to place our order the night before. We were the only people in the dining room when we ate. They even offered to make porridge for our baby even though we hadn't ordered it. The bus stop is just across the street for heading into the city.

  Disliked: The bathroom door handle was falling off, but still usable. There were also not a lot of outlets to charge things.

  It was a good stay overall, but I would appreciate paying attention to details so that you actually feel more welcome an

  Liked: It’s very beautiful on the outside! A few things should be better taking care of on the inside.

  Disliked: The smell of the restroom on the ground floor of the reception building. The fact that even though we did a late check-in, the room wasn’t warm until we turned on the heat. The stains in our carpet.

  Liked: The location is ideal for us going to an event at Prestonfield house and having a car park is a bonus.

  Disliked: We have stayed before where the breakfast was included in the price. It is now an additional charge and you have to fill in a pre order before 10pm the night before. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to do this and didn't have the breakfast.

  Lovely big old house and great welcome

  Liked: Lovely neighbourhood and the staff were terrific. Interesting restaurants, and pubs within walking distance.

  Pity about above but location and easy access to old town Edinburgh

  Disliked: Shower pumped cold and the scolding hot. No evening meal option.
