  Liked: Friendly check in and concierge

  Disliked: Bar staff tried to move us from an unreserved table, that was going to be reserved. There were other tables available. They gave us a free coffee after my partner complained to rectify but it left a bad feeling

  Love this hotel. Another great stay. Recommended!

  Liked: Love this hotel! My second time staying. Love the decor the location, the super helpful and friendly staff. Really comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast is great as was baba where we had dinner the first night. That was the best meal I’ve had in quite a while!

  Disliked: My only gripe was the double bed. Pretty sure most hotels are kings or queens nowadays and the room could have easily accommodated a king. But I will accept that negative for all the above positives!

  Perfectly nice, friendly staff but hotel felt tired to us

  Liked: Lovely big window in room overlooking square. Location was good for us. Bedroom itself was spacious (not bathroom).

  Disliked: Bathroom incredibly small for what we were paying and didn't like old carpet in room. We checked in at 3:00PM and one of our rooms wasn't ready until 4:30PM. The next day we returned to our room at 4:00PM and room service had still not been in to clean the rooms. I found the restaurant menu too limited. I am allergic to bell peppers and chilli which didn't leave me much choice.

  Liked: Unfortunately we didnt stay because we didnt like the style/branding look. Seemed very fake and weird. We were hoping for a more boutique hotel experience instead of a big chain. Felt with all the history in Edinburgh that the hotel didnt respect the culture. The interior could of been anywhere in the world. Staff were very helpful and understanding. We lost 500 pounds because of us deciding not to stay at your hotel.

  Disliked: very fake. Art work was strange and all the fake plants were awful. Finishes and colouring seemed cheap for a 5 star hotel

  Short break away from routine

  Liked: The complimentary drinks social hour was a really good idea. Its a win win situation, because it draws people together, and then of course we are going to continue at the bar, and then to Baba. Super first evening spent in hotel Went out for 2nd evening, after enjoying the pool facilities and facial and massage Michelle Allison very nice and professional
