Liked: Facilities were clean, room was beautiful with high ceilings. Room felt much better than a 3 star. Staff were extremely lovely and very helpful. Super fast room service.

Disliked: Restaurant was a bit pricey. Location not ideal (even the Murrayfield stadium, which was visible from outside the hotel but unfortunately the route shown by google maps is incorrect and we ended up having to go round the whole Murrayfield stadium) but lots of great public transport links so this wasn't a problem.

Liked: The atmosphere was perfect for autumn Edinburgh. The building itself, the furniture and small details (such as pictures in frames) made our stay quite special. The bed was huge and comfortable. It was clean and the bathroom was nice. We were pleasantly surprised that for breakfast we could order restaurant quality meal and use buffet as well. Additionally, we could order barista coffee (oat milk wad also available). The location is extremely convenient since the bus stop is just 1 minute away Without exaggeration, it was one of the best hotel stays we have experienced

Disliked: It is not really something that affected our experience much but I want to share this, so that the workers or managers can notice and advise the staff. It was a very stormy evening and we intended to dine at the hotel. We checked reservations in advance and saw empty slots. However, we didn't know the exact time of our arrival, so we did not book anything thinking that there should be at least one free table given the empty slots on the website. When we finally got to the hotel, the person at the reservation desk told us that the restaurant was completely booked. We were shocked as it was pouring outside and it would take quite some time to get to the nearest restaurant. After the cold windy day we were a bit in despair. And imagine our surprise when we looked at the website "just in case" and found empty slots. Eventually, we had a lovely dinner at the bothy (which we definitely recommend!) while only two other customers were there (it was basically empty). Initially this situation caused as a lot of stress, so it would be nice if the staff could be a bit more considerate and check the reservations thoroughly to avoid misunderstanding and causing unnecessary stress (especially when the weather is so harsh)
