  Liked: Easy to collect keys, fantastic location in the middle of the city so you can walk to everything. A nice park and viewpoint for Edinburgh Castle is just a 5 minute walk away. Good beds and spacious within the interior of the apartment.

  Disliked: Couldn't get the radiators to work right so we were quite cold. Due to the central location it was also a bit loud at night as there are pubs nearby.

  Poor Sleep Quality

  Liked: The only positive aspect of our stay was that the hosts were quick to respond and tried to resolve issues fairly fast. And location

  Disliked: However, overall the experience was very disappointing and felt poorly managed. From the beginning there was a lack of coordination — the key that was supposed to be in the lockbox was missing, and we had to wait outside in the cold for around 20 minutes before it was sorted out. The apartment itself feels old, poorly maintained, and not very clean despite its central location. The building and flat look quite neglected. There were also several “cost-saving” rules that made the stay uncomfortable and stressful. The heating (radiators) was turned off, and there were strict warnings about using towels or linens, implying extra charges if anything was “misused.” Even toilet paper was extremely limited, which created an uncomfortable feeling during the stay. Overall, it felt like everything was designed around minimizing usage rather than providing a comfortable guest experience, which negatively affected our mood during the trip. Noise was another major issue. The windows are old and single-glazed wooden frames, so you can hear everything from outside. Rose Street is extremely noisy at night and early morning, with shops unloading goods and delivery trucks starting very early. On top of that, there was construction work on the neighbouring building with scaffolding, which woke us up around 6 AM. Because of all this, sleep quality was very poor throughout our stay.

  Gorgeous location for everything to visit at walking distance and a lovely clean flat-but some things broken or missing

  Liked: Lovely spacious and clean apartment

  Disliked: Shower holder was broken and therefore could not have a shower unless holding the shower head in hand. Tried to fix the holder but was very loose. No plug for sink or kitchen (or I could not find it anywhere?) no bowl so could not wash up properly. Building work with much scaffolding at back of apartment taking place and started the noise of the works early hours which woke us up.

  Liked: Location was great. Staff responded quickly to messages.

  Disliked: The place was dirty. It was very noisy. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Requires maintenance.
