  Great place to stay once you manage to get inside

  Liked: The location was great, very comfortable

  Disliked: The check-in instructions didn’t come through until the morning of our stay when I was already traveling. There weren’t any clear directions on where to find the entrance (I had no idea that “East Entry” was the name of a close).

  Would definitely recommend!

  Liked: Very central location and cool entrance next to an old pub in a small alley! Amazing old stone walls and stairs inside - it was so beautiful and we absolutely just loved the atmosphere! Felt very unique.

  Disliked: Can’t really think of anything obvious, maybe just that there were some stains on the sofa and floor. Otherwise nothing bad to say

  Liked: Thank you for the opportunity to review this establishment. I have photos that I would like to share. This I think would be appropriate to inform future customers who might wish to rent this room and bathroom. The stairs are as described in the information. However, there is no hand rail to support persons who are 70+. On entering the "suite", the suite contains two large windows. A curtain which is barely hanging on the left window provides no darkeing at hight to the room. The bed has seen better days: I have a photo of torn bed upholstery. The matras is on two box beds with planks. The carpet (photos available) is ripped and holed. It was hoovered but still there emerged during our stay evidence of previous occupants. The room does not have a clothes cupboard. This has been apparently solved by having a coat hanger to hold trousers etc. There is one large chair in the room. We cleaned it before using it. The room contains the kitchen. Appliances worked. Dishes were placed in an open cupboard, which stands on the previously described carpet. We washed the disches prior to use. The cutlery stood in a contained which contained a black surface. We did not inspect further. There was cutlery which met the requirements of a single individual. Similarly single issue of glasses for one individual. There is a recently modernized bathroom. The toilet holder was loose and toilet paper fell on the floor due to the shifting of the hangar. The head of the shower can be adjusted at the risk of the shower holder falling out of the wall. The wifi was not available on our first day but did come on the second.

  It's worth it ONLY for the location!!! Not suitable for a family!

  Disliked: Stairs very tall and inaccessible for luggage, WIFI not working, internet and cellular data not working, TV channels very limited, property owner told me she was going to send someone to check the WiFi and that never happened!!!

Rooms are accessed by the keys which are to be collected from the key safe.

Property does not have a reception and is not able to storage luggage for guest before check-in or after check-out times.

Access to the rooms is through spiral narrow XVI century staircase only and those with limited mobility should be aware about this inconvenience.

Royal Mile Suites by the Castle are located just off Edinburgh Castle and there is no parking of the property. Guests are kindly asked to park their cars at large car park with can be accessed by 7 minutes walk from the property. Limited payable parking spaces can be find near the property. Map with the parking locations will be provided to guest directly by the property self check-in instructions.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
