Excellent location, but better quality stays elsewhere

Liked: Excellent location, staff were very kind and and helpful.

Disliked: Our bathroom door handle was broken and the toilet paper holder was also broken. For this high quality of a hotel, very disappointed in that.

Great luxury hotel for Scottish sightseeing

Liked: Central location. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was amazing.

Disliked: Staff took a while to take our orders and forgot about our drinks twice. We did eventually speak to them and they got them sorted ASAP and were super friendly and apologetic so I think it was just due to the busyness.

The staff in the location are both exceptional. But do not expect a luxury hotel. It is no longer the Waldorf Astoria, a

Liked: I have been here before when it was the Waldorf Astoria, and it was absolutely stunning, with perfect service and exceptional rooms. and amenity. This time, I was pretty shocked at how rundown my room was. There was no option for me to move rooms, so I was stuck in a room with a broken window, a duvet that had very little warmth in it, and a terrible pillows, and a very worn out chair. The bathroom was very good except for the fact that there was no shower cap or toiletries of any kind. What made my state exceptional was not the hotel or the perfect location, but the staff. It started with being welcomed by George, who is just a wonderful guy, Emma and Naomi, who were amazing and so helpful, and Katherine, the night manager who went above the call of duty to help make sure that she could do whatever was possible to make my room a little bit better than it was. The staff in the beautiful tea room was fantastic as well. As a Hilton honor member, I think it would be really smart to offer free breakfast. It doesn’t take a lot, but it would sure make people like me feel a little bit more special rather than just a number. The location is spectacular, and the hotel is very safe. What makes this hotel stand out from all the hotels I’ve been at around the world in my 68 years, is the staff. The people who were there when I was there three years were so empathetic and helpful that they made the discovery of the terrible little room acceptable to me

Disliked: My room, 528, had terrible pillows, a duvet that had no feathers left in it, a terrible mattress, and a broken window. The little chair in the corner was worn out and in pretty bad shape. I was surprised that the bathroom was clean and very nice though, and I was happy about that.

To call this a 5 star hotel is a disgrace. Housekeeping were abysmal, they kept leaving things on the floor, not vaccuum

    Liked: Great location

Disliked: Housekeeping was a disaster, concierge wasnt helpful, construction outside with no warning
