  Liked: Easy to get to without driving into the city, excellent bus service right outside. Room and bathroom were beautifully decorated, and even though it was on a main road it was very quiet during the night. Staff very friendly and bar very quirky.

  Liked: Lovely comfortable large room, very quiet, we slept really well there and enjoyed the quirky restaurant that is part of the hotel.

  Not the quality you expect given the score on booking

  Liked: Good dinner option in the associated Canny Mans pub Close to bus stop Parking option (although not clear)

  Disliked: Rooms just not on modern standards (heating control failed, TV not working) Very poor continental breakfast This is not a boutique hotel. The pub is the focus and they clearly run the rooms on the side

  Perfect location for a stay in Edinburgh

  Liked: Great location. Very quiet ( unfortunately they were digging the road up outside when we were there but it would be very quiet any other time) Lovely big room with beautiful bathroom. Very warm. Parking available ( but limited) so we left the car there and used the buses. Part of a great pub with excellent reputation.
