Exceptional
Black Mold, Loud Street, Dirty Entry and More
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: I arrived about 7:00 pm and started feeling sick a few hours later. By morning, was incredibly ill from what I later discovered was thick BLACK MOLD and had to find another place Halloween weekend. I had booked a week. I contacted the owners as soon as I found the mold and places someone had simply wiped mold off. They came over, saw it and said I would be refunded in full but that I would need to contact Booking.com. then proceeded to try and charge me almost double the nightly rate, including a cleaning fee. The owners ARE the cleaners and said so while we were all in the apartment. They even had the cleaning supplies for the upstairs apartment with them and said they would be cleaning after I left. They told Booking.com they had paid a cleaning person. I said I was willing to pay for the one night but that was all. I am still disputing the cleaning fee. I have spent the weekend moving to a new place, sick from breathing black mold, cleaning all of my clothing from the smell and on calls with Booking.com. I was absolutely shocked to see it listed again the next day with no way they could have had the mold issue taken care of. A few of the photos are attached here. The sofas and artificial plants also had grey moldy looking spots. I did not look behind the fridge but would imagine there is mold on the wall behind the appliances. The smell is quite strong. The building is on a very busy street and no soundproofing so it's loud from traffic noise all the time. Trying to open the windows to air the place out just made it worse. The bathroom was the only room that seemed pretty clean. I do not know how they got good reviews. Even the television is not as pictured and has been replaced with something smaller. The entry to the building is not locked most of the time and was dirty with trash on the floor and an apparent leak with a large puddle on the landing at the top of the first set of stairs. This is the first negative review I have ever left. I felt swindled.
Very good
Liked: Very well Laid out and comfortable
Disliked: Could have a better duvet& pillows
Great apartment in a great location
Liked: Well appointed apartment with fab kitchen and living area. Great location within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops, railway station and ferry terminal.
Disliked: Bed was a bit too hard and pillows too soft for our tastes.
Ideally situated in Town minutes away from interests. Fully fitted equipped Kitchen - Fab
Liked: Ideally situated in Oban, just a few minutes walk from all interesting places. Car parking on north pier was easy and close by. Apartment was spacious and fully fitted including a fully fitted and equipped kitchen. Bathroom was great and had a bath (always a bonus for me). Communication was easy and quick. Bedroom was good size and comfy bed.
Disliked: No real issues but Cobwebs in corners of sitting room need addressing. Because on main road and windows are of sash style not completely blocking road noise.
Liked: Living area open plan. The owner. Bed comfortable. Sofas the same.
Disliked: Not much tbh
Good stay but needs some maintenance and more consideration given to longer stays
Liked: The property is in a great location with easy access to everything around Oban Kitchen is a good size and Living Room and bedroom are comfortable. A bigger TV would be a benefit.
Disliked: Access is hard if you have large and heavy cases, it is 2 flights of stairs not a few steps to the first floor. There are only 2 small saucepans and frying pans for use on top of the cooker and a potato peeler would have been useful The shower constantly drips when not in use Two of the drawers on the bedroom unit fall off when opening and you have to keep putting them back on. We stayed for 2 weeks and it would have been good to have had clean towels during that period, although there is a washing machine drying washing is more difficult. There is a lot of focus on being sparing with the electricity use for a property that is highly priced.
