  Beyond our expectations

  Liked: Location was ideal - overlooking ferry terminal and train station with stunning views of Kerrera and the Isle of Mull. Apartment was beautifully laid out and kept in great condition with all items to make it feel like home. Very spacious with comfortable living and dining areas. Would throughly recommend and would use again, if available.

  Liked: Location was perfect for exploring Oban and the West Coast and for access to the ferry terminal. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed apartment and also dog friendly. Only a short walk into the heart of the town centre and around the harbour. We only stayed for four nights as part of a tour but it would make a good base for a longer stay. Covered parking garage below - but we warned if you drive a larger SUV/4x4 its tight but there is plenty of alternative parking nearby. Would definitely book again if staying in Oban. Great communication from our host, who sent plenty of info about places to visit/eat before we arrived. Worth a visit to Roxy' Cafe, Cuan Mor, The Lorne and The Whisky Vaults Bar (fab tradional live music) all within walking distance (and dog friendly).

  Disliked: Personally the bed was a bit soft for us but that's just a preference thing. Not really a negative but one to bare in mind, pack accordingly to carry your belongings up three flights of stairs as there is no lift, we knew this before booking so we're prepared. And as per another reviewers comments don't be put off by the entrance hall which is a bit dull, the apartment is lovely.

  Spacious, attractive apartment in great position for Oban centre but still quiet

  Liked: Well described, spacious and clean apartment. The lounge was comfortable and very attractive, with ample seating for 4 people. The kitchen had a nice big table (pull-out flap for more space) and was very well equipped and bright. The apartment is thoughtfully (e.g. shoe rack and small table in entrance) and very tastefully decorated. Having an en-suite bathroom off the "parents´" bedroom was great. The position was perfect, as we could walk to the front, shops and restaurants (Tesco & M&S Foodhall also less than 10 mins walk or very close by car). The bedrooms are on the rear (not ferry terminal side) and quiet. I didn´t hear any traffic at night at all. Communication with the host was good. Parking beneath the apartment block was very handy and although not wide, not a problem (VW Passat).

  Disliked: It is more "Ferry terminal view" than "Island view", although you can see bits of islands behind the terminal and the town to the left and right! As other reviewers have said, the ferry terminal is right in front of the house but not at all noisy and it´s quite nice to watch the coming & going day and night! The only problem was the beds: 2 of us slept well but one of my sons slept on the lounge floor for 2 nights as his bed was small for him (he is 190cm tall) and squashy. Our (double) mattress was also a bit saggy on the top, but I slept well anyway. The keys remain a problem: the one for the garage door got completely stuck and it took about 10 minutes to get it out (we thought we would have to leave it in there).

  Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend

  Liked: The property is in a fantastic location, only five minutes walk from the Town Centre, train station and ferry port, and offered fantastic views over the Bay. The interior was nicely furnished and contained everything required to make our stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

  Disliked: There's no lift to the property which may prove difficult for some guests.

  Good location shame locks give very bad first impression and were a problem the whole stay

  Liked: Location Clean Parking but very tight, need small car

  Disliked: Key locks all 3 locks need changing very bad impression and a problem whole stay Apartment 3 flights of stairs. Description needs to make this clear. Top floor doesnt say third floor, assumed one flight ie two storey. Sofa very uncomfortable,needs better chairs and sofa to enjoy location and stay Kingsize bedding bobbled, and cheap feeling, sheet and mattress protector too small for mattress, so kept coming off. Need deep fitting sheets. A shame descent bedding would make the stay much better. Pillows very flat, a couple of plumper pillows would be an improvement
