  Liked: the female staff were very polite, kind and helpful throughout the entire stay, including the older lady serving dinners who was sweet despite the language barrier. room was clean, the shower worked well and had no problem with the room in general. the breakfast was little bit underwhelming but still did its job

  Disliked: the check-out experience was unacceptable. the gentleman at the desk spoke no english and attempted to charge me again for the entire stay that was already paid, and became irritated when i pointed it out because apparently he asked me if i had paid for it. to set the record straight, he did not ask me anything. when paying the local tax, he threw my change across the desk without a single word, thanks or goodbye, and then stormed off into the kitchen. never in my life have i experienced such unprofessional behaviour, totally ruined the otherwise pleasant impression of the place

  Great for a scenic, last-minute budget trip

  Liked: Staff very friendly. From the city centre you can walk via the Elizabeth hiking trail (Wanderweg) directly to the guest house, and you can walk by the Ischl river along the Dammweg back into town. Had a nice view of the mountains from the outdoor area of the restaurant. My room was quiet and facing away from the road. A room for €42 in August with breakfast included is a bargain.

  Disliked: This place doesn't claim to offer anything luxurious, so I find some of the other guests' complaints unfounded. I actually quite enjoyed having an evening offline. The room was clean, however the bathtub and mattress could do with renovating.

  I would never stay here again

  Liked: The room was clean and spacious

  Disliked: When we arrived there was no reception, the waitress was an older lady who ignored up then yelled at us in German and left us standing there well over 15 minutes. She was very angry and annoyed and it made us very uncomfortable. They should have a better check in process. Also the room was very hot and there was no fan. The breakfast was very lackluster, but I was glad they had coffee.
