Hotel in a good quiet position, the room & facilities good, dining needs to be addressed
Liked: The reception staff were friendly & helpful. The pool & hot pool were a good feature but often full with long staying guests with their drinks. The relaxation area around the fire was always taken. Our room (upgrade designer) had good view with good space for the sofa but needed a mirror above the dressing table.
Disliked: The evening meal was a big disappointment. Although a 5 course menu it was not co-ordinated. The food was not up to a standard, especially for the rating of the hotel. In 3 days there were only 3 courses I enjoyed, although the salad bar was good. The waiters were also unco-ordinated and often gave the course to another table, or forgot to bring the wine or brought the next course before we had finished the previous one. Just numbers on a table would have helped or having one waitress to serve the same tables. The breakfast buffet was good but getting a coffee meant asking several times. Our bedroom door had been left open by the cleaning staff all day. Having stayed there 10 years ago I felt it needed up dating.
