  Perfect location in a lovely city- great for a solo traveler!

  Liked: Perfect location, free parking, nice room. Perfect for a solo traveler! Though I didn’t cook, the kitchen has everything you need to make a meal. The airco is strong which is a must in Croatian summer!

  Disliked: I found the bed to be a little comfortable but tolerable.

  Cockroaches

  Liked: The apartment is in a very convenient central location in Rovinj, perfect for exploring the town on foot, and having a parking space available is definitely a plus. However, it was quite difficult to find at first, as Google Maps directs you to the wrong location. We had to call the host, who then explained how to reach the apartment. The apartment is on the ground floor and the bathroom is quite small. Initially, our experience with the host was very positive: she was helpful and responsive. For example, at around 10 p.m. we discovered that the pans provided were not compatible with the induction hob. We called her and she immediately came to replace them, which we really appreciated.

  Disliked: Unfortunately, our experience changed completely on the second-to-last morning, when we woke up and found a cockroach in the apartment, which even climbed onto the bed. We immediately contacted the host. Her husband came over to help us look for it, but instead of showing understanding, he made fun of us for being afraid of cockroaches. We were unable to find it again and, understandably, we no longer felt comfortable sleeping there for our final night. We asked whether another apartment was available, but were told there was none. Initially, they also refused to refund the final night, even though we had decided to leave because of what had happened. We therefore contacted Booking.com customer service, and with their assistance we eventually obtained a refund for the unused night. There was then another unpleasant issue regarding our dog. They wanted to charge us €45 for the two nights we had stayed, a fee that had not been clearly communicated to us beforehand. After further discussion through Booking.com customer service, we eventually agreed on €30. What disappointed us most was the way the situation was handled. Finding a cockroach can happen, especially in a ground-floor apartment, but the reaction of the hosts made the experience much worse. When we left, they did not even say goodbye to us, and we felt as though we were being treated as if the whole situation had somehow been our fault. Overall, the apartment has some genuine advantages, particularly its central location, parking and the host’s initial availability. Unfortunately, the cockroach incident and, above all, the way our concerns were handled completely changed our impression of the stay.

  I would stay here again dispite the couple of issues that we had
