We liked our stay in the hotel and the venerable, time-honored house

Liked: We were happy with our stay. Hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was great

Disliked: Not a big problem, but the glasspart between bathroom and bedroom was not really comfortable. Because you coudt see the one in the bathroom through the mirror sitting on the toilet..

A charming boutique hotel in the heart of Bourg-en-Bresse

Liked: Le Griffon d’Or was a lovely discovery! This charming boutique hotel is set in a beautiful historic building and combines traditional character with modern comfort and stylish, individual decor. My room was spacious, tastefully furnished and impeccably clean. It was also well equipped, with a kettle, a coffee machine and a small fridge, which I really appreciated. The hotel also has a sauna and a fitness area. Although I didn't use the sauna, I had a look at the fitness area, which had a good selection of equipment. The owners were genuinely warm and welcoming, and made me feel right at home. Breakfast was excellent, with a delicious selection of local products. Having a parking space right in the courtyard was also a real bonus. The location is ideal, just a short stroll from the historic centre and its restaurants. A wonderful place to stay, and definitely somewhere I would happily return to!

Disliked: The only minor downside was some rather loud stomping and thumping from the room above. However, this was due to the other guests and hardly something I could blame the hotel for.
