  A pleasant stay with one or two exceptions

  Liked: Small location but well laid out. Extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Parking was tight but worth the extra payment of €5 per day. Overlooked a well maintained garden. Outdoor seating available. Quiet location very close to city centre.

  Disliked: Host insisted I spoke German and seemed to find it difficult to use AI to translate. He should have sent instructions MUCH earlier instead of leaving it until we were stood outside his premises. He could have avoided a frustrating situation. A small point: the fridge was stuffed with bottles of alcohol and soft drinks that he wanted us to purchase. This took up the extremely limited space that we needed for our own groceries. It made the apartment feel more like a hotel which was not what we expected or needed. His communication needs to be far better. He was very demanding and pushy both written and whilst on the phone with his insistence that I speak German. As a host to international visitors he should make more effort to communicate via AI in written messages.

  I wish that all hotel stays were this relaxing

  Liked: We needed a place (hopefully clean) to keep our luggage and sleep. A bonus was a place close to Domplatz. I definately would stay there again if I vusit Erfurt again.

  Clean and secure

  Liked: Comfortable for the most part, large living space. Clean. Decent location.

  Disliked: The bedroom was so small there is barely enough space to walk, certainly no bedside tables. We had to put our two bags of luggage in the living room. Sound insulation between rooms is minimal, we could hear the neighbors chatting the setting their glasses on the counter. The terrace is nice, table and chairs a bit wobbly, it it is clearly the smoking lounge and for us non smokers it was a problem as the smoke drifted into our room, so on a hot day we had to keep the windows closed. Perhaps move a table out away from the patio and designate it as Smoking. We love to dry our clothes outside, but on the terrace with smokers on either side didn’t give it a very fresh smell. I know some basic German, but the info sheet was only in German and took a bit to get through. Maybe add an English translation? No soap or shampoo, but they offer a large bottle of shower gel for €6.00 in the bathroom. The true frost point was expecting us to pay for teabags or instant coffee. While I realize it was a small amount of €, but maybe put two teabags or coffee packets and charge for any additional requested. We have never in 40 countries and 6 continents been expected to pay for coffee or tea bags! If they paying €100 per room for cleaners as they said in one comment, they need to find new cleaners.
