Our quick break visiting family in Freiburg

Liked: We liked everything, very clean, tidy and had everything we needed as we were mostly spending time with my daughter and family nearby to the Hotel Bären., so it was perfect location. We met a few of the staff who were all very nice especially the lovely ladies cleaning our room.

Disliked: There really isn't anything we didnt like but we would have liked a kettle in our room to make a hot drink. This was not a problem really as we had tea, coffee etc at my daughters apartment. So this is not a complaint. The beds, the bathroom, the wardrobe, walls, floor, curtains were all immaculate. Very happy and we want to use this hotel regularly if possible

  Welcoming hotel away from downtown

Liked: Location was great for our purposes--near Seepark and tram line. Tempted by the downstairs restaurant but instead went to highly rated Magellan a block away. There was small fridge in room for the leftovers. We were there over Christmas, and staff were on holiday so did not have breakfast, but saw the very nice breakfast area. Met owner at checkout and he was great!

I will use it again just because of the friendly staff and the great hospitality

Liked: Great staff, so friendly and helpful. Free parking and we left the car there all the time and used the Tram to the city. quiet room. Very close to great restaurants. Very close to a nice park.

Disliked: No elevator, we had to carry the suitcase up the stairs.

Not the Ritz but outstanding, friendly service, definitely recommended

Liked: The hotel was very clean and tidy, Joe was extremely helpful and went beyond what we expected to ensure our stay was as pleasurable as possible. Joe even help us to plan our days out which really helped.

Disliked: There was no air conditioning so the room was very hot, we did, however, stay during a heatwave which exacerbated the situation. This was not a major issue but worth being aware of if this is a requirement.

Good value for money I guess…

  Liked: The location

Disliked: We stayed here about a year ago in a different room and it was comfortable enough. But this time the bed was uncomfortable, had a second small mattress above the mattress and the linen didn’t feel clean. We were also informed 2 days before that there wasn’t any breakfast this weekend which was very disappointing and we didn’t see any staff at all - a bit weird.
