Fabulous
Fabulous location high up overlooking the town next to the castle and cathedral
Liked: Fantastic location as high as you can get in Meissen, next to the castle and cathedral with a lovely terrace overlooking the town. Clean, comfortable room with a good shower. Glass of Sekt and chocolates on arrival and a bag of biscuits at the end. Nice, friendly touches. The views really couldn’t be better.
Disliked: Difficult to find because the sign for the hotel is tiny and overshadowed by the name of the restaurant, so you walk right past it. Also, there needs to be clearer signposting on the way up the hill. A warning … it is a steep cobbled hill and therefore tricky to walk up with suitcases. There is a bus stop outside the hotel but they only come by once an hour, and only after 10am. So while the views are lovely it is not suitable for people who aren’t fit. Also, a small point, but the music in the breakfast room was completely inappropriate - we had the radio on with endless chatter and clubby-type music - this was almost certainly aimed more at the staff than the clientele, which was entirely over 60s/in their 70s. It’s a pity as is a nice breakfast room, also with great views.

Liked: Das Zimmer ist sehr gut,modern und hochwertig ausgestattet ohne den Bezug auf die Geschichte des Hauses zu verlieren. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Das Personal ist sehr frrundlich und zuvorkommend. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt sind gut zu Fuss zu erreichen.
