Very good
a wonderful place to stay, well connected with the city centre but outside the bustle of city life
Liked: The room was confortable and looked onto a big botanical garden. It was on the third floor (there is a lift) and the street in front of the hotel was very quiet at night. We had a big double bed with very confortable mattresses and pillows, an armchair near the window for reading, a table big enought to sit and work on with a portable computer (but we were on holidays and had not work emergency, so I left the computer untouched in my bag, a small wardrobe and a place to put an open suitcase and look for things without bending down (something I really enjoyed). The bathroom was well equipped too. We did not take breakfast at the hotel, so we cannot say how is was, but we enjoyed the complimentary apples we could take every time we came to the reception desk. They were always fresh and delicious. There are some traditional bakeries (one is more than a century old) within a 15 minutes walk from the hotel, so we bought tea and some local baking goods there, then went to eat them at the botanical garden, sitting in the sun surrounded by beautiful greenery and funny squirrels looking for food. We can also recommend the Thai restaurant within walking distance from the hotel (a 10 minutes walk downhill, beware that it is a steep uphill walk on the way back and may therefore take a little longer): the food was delicious, the staff very friendly, the portions enormous and the price reasonable. We came and went to Stuttgart's city centre by public means of transport and it always worked fine, we were always there or back within 40-45 minutes, even at night, and felt very safe.
Disliked: Everything was great, the room very confortable, the staff very kind and the location ideal for a quiet week-end visiting a big city without the hustle and bustle of the same city's night life! The only thing I missed was an electric kettle in the room as I enjoy drinking a last cup of herbal tea before going to bed, but as it isn't a usual thing to find in German hotels, I didn't ask for one at the reception desk. Perhaps it would even had been available, but as I forgot to ask, I can't say.
Liked: My daughter stayed here for one night, and everything was great—it was cozy and had everything we needed. And most importantly, it was safe. We waited for her to come home, called her, and were worried about her. But she had a wonderful time. Thank you
Liked: Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Location at the Hohenheim botanical garden.
Disliked: Sound insulation of room was moderate.
Late late last minute booking
Liked: We arrived very late after reception had closed. This wasn't an issue as staff contact me and made simple arrangements to negate any problems. The room was simple but clean with a decent shower comfy bed and some other basic amenities. We left early to catch a flight so didn't actually meet anyone at all. The hotel was quiet in the evening which was perfect and a short bus ride from Stuttgart Airport.
