  Beautiful apartment with a fantastic balcony, great location and incredibly helpful hospitality!

  Liked: Our stay at SII City Luxury Suites was absolutely amazing! We had a little hiccup when we first arrived, as I hadn’t realised that I had booked one of the semi-basement studio apartments. However, as soon as I contacted the host, he was incredibly helpful and kindly arranged for us to move into one of the apartments, which was actually the type of apartment I initially thought I booked. We really appreciated how accommodating and helpful he was. Therefore my recommendation when booking would be to pay close attention to the apartment descriptions, as the different types of accommodation aren’t immediately obvious from the photos alone. Other than that initial mix-up, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The apartment was beautiful (really modern) clean, spacious and extremely comfortable, with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, bathroom or living space. The balcony was absolutely fantastic, really spacious and such a lovely place to relax after being at the beach and on the move all day. Air con was 10/10 and the bedroom featured a ceiling fan which was one of my favourite features. The location was also great, around a 15-minute walk from Rethymno Old Town and the town centre, with plenty of lovely restaurants, shops and bars nearby. Having a car would be a bonus if you’re planning to explore more of Crete, particularly as some of the roads can be quite steep and winding. As I'm more or less blending in with the locals since I've been going to Rethymno for the last 12 years I recommend Fraoules a lovely spot for lunch but also great music and cocktails in the evening and very popular with the locals. Love the little Italian spot on the corner as you enter the Old Town. If you have a car definitely drive up to Lake Kournas! Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend SII City Luxury Suites.

  Return to Rethymno

  Liked: Generous size balcony, living and bedroom. Laundry machine and iron. Proximity to super market and cafes. View from balcony and rooftop.

  Disliked: Small shower and toilet spaces. Limited cleaning supplies, laundry tablet and no extra kitchen trash bags. Very small kitchen countertop space. Communication with property management was sporadic. Often delayed responses. Finally, parking.

  Liked: Really easy check in and absolutely loved the rooftop terrace and the balcony. The facilities were overall great.

  Disliked: We booked the space for 4 people and I have to say that the couch isn't the comfiest thing in the world. That being said the apartment is very nice maybe just for two people though.

  Great modern apartment, with friendly host, and good attention to detail!

  Liked: - very modern and comfortable - easy check in and good communication from host - nice balcony, kitchen, and couch - attention to detail in how the apartment is designed - welcoming wine and some basics like a couple coffee pods and soap and shampoo were all appreciated - there's a nespresso coffee machine which is great - the host was really kind and organised a cleaning half way through our stay, as we had a longer stay - WiFi was good in the kitchen/lounge area

  Disliked: - WiFi didn't reach too far e.g. It didn't really reach the balcony and not really perfect in the bedroom. - Parking isn't provided so you have to look for street parking down the road if the few open spaces outside the apartment are taken. - The road outside was a bit loud but the windows are great at blocking out the sound and the bedroom and kitchen area both have their own AC. All the cons were super serious, hence the 9 out of 10 rating. Overall the stay was great!
