Exceptional
Basic, dated & not very clean. Host was very helpful but wouldn’t stay again unfortunately
Liked: The host was really helpful & assisted with luggage as it was quite difficult place to find and access. Great views from balcony.
Disliked: Apartment was very dated and not that clean, kitchen & bathroom were very basic. In a residential area outside town with steep walk to get back to it.
A beautiful, friendly holiday spot which can be as lively or peaceful as you like!
Liked: Perfect location, a 2 min walk to the Old Port for going out, but tucked away from the bustle and noise. Lovely tiny beach 5 mins walk away. Gorgeous views. The bakeries and mini markets are easy to reach. Stathis was really concerned to look after us well and answered our (several) messages in good time. He went out of his was to get us a taxi to the airport, gave us extra bedding, and delivered drinking water too. He's a truly kind and helpful person (and his cats are adorable!)
Disliked: As we were sleeping in the living room, it would have been good to be able to close the kitchen shutters at night, which were locked back out of reach. Also the sound proof door to the main balcony didn't close properly, which let a little aircon leak outside, and let a little noise in. But it wasn't a big problem, it was still fairly effective. Also making sure there's a mat for the shower, as the water goes everywhere. A broom or brush in the apartment would be helpful as our feet were often sandy! But house keeping did come in twice during out four day stay.
Great location & sea views, friendly owner
Liked: Located in Plakes with fabulous island and sea views. Stathis the owner was super friendly & helped us with our large case. Balconies at the front & rear of apartment. All the streets in that area were narrow and car free. Close to the centre of Skiathos town.
Disliked: Minor point, the apartment was a little dated, but with that location & views….

Liked: Just returned from our first trip to Skiathos and feel so fortunate to have found the perfect location based on the information provided by the owner, Stathis, and the reviews from Booking.com. We had a little, almost private beach (perfect for swimming) next to a stunning viewpoint down some steep steps. 15 min walk was a sandy beach with several lovely tavernas with a good choice of food & drink. 5 min walk from the accommodation is the old port with fabulous tavernas and only another few mins to the old town with more restaurants and shops. Staying at Plakes meant that we had a quiet (& beautiful) neighbourhood to sleep, in & around a locals’ community, but with the closeness of bars, restaurants and beaches. It’s a 5 min walk to a bus stop to explore other parts of the island but we felt like we had everything we could want in walking distance from Plakes. The apartment was very clean, spacious with a big bed & bedroom, a large kitchen/lounge/diner with two sofa beds. The shower was powerful, the kitchen had a tall fridge freezer, & plenty of cupboard space. The French doors out to the balcony had sea views. The owner Stathis was so friendly and welcoming, with recommendations from his local knowledge. With his business partner, Heather, they run a taverna in town and will happily accommodate a gluten free menu (thanks to Heather having years experience in the wedding catering industry & family with dietary needs, including coeliac.) We’re almost reluctant to share how brilliant this place is as we may not be able to book next time! Thank you for a fantastic stay!
