Exceptional
Truly Special Place
Liked: This villa was the highlight of my trip to Skiathos. The gardens are so beautiful and the view from the property is stunning. The villa itself is so cozy and I really appreciated how thoughtfully everything was set up, nothing felt like an afterthought which says a lot about the hosts (Karen & Org) who put their heart and soul into this property and truly care about their guests’ comfort. They were genuine, kind and always willing to help making the whole stay feel effortless. I can’t recommend this villa enough.
Liked: Villa Athena has everything you need to enjoy Skiathos! Karen and George were so welcoming, they spent time giving us suggestions on where to go, beaches, places to eat, rentals and everything else in-between. The studio was comfortable with all the facilities needed for a short stay. The highlight was of course the view from the balcony that overlooks the sea and islands. Location is a short drive to town or approx 20-30 minute walk to town. There is a main bus route at the bottom of the hill which can take you easily around the island. I hope to come back again soon!

Liked: AMAZING! Coming from two sisters who are extremely particular about cleanliness and aesthetics, that says a lot. This mini estate, set within an old olive grove, is absolutely pristine. The gardens and views are spectacular, and each villa offers privacy with its own porch and garden. Our villa featured a balcony with breathtaking views of the olive groves, hills, and sea. The bed linens were crisp white and comparable to those of a high-end hotel. Rooms were cleaned daily, with sheets and towels refreshed every few days. The location requires about a 5-minute walk up a steep hill, which is very manageable if you are in good physical health. Karen and Org, the hosts, live on the property and are exceptionally hospitable and caring. Karen welcomed us onto her balcony and spent time walking us through a map of the island, sharing tips on the best beaches and providing excellent restaurant recommendations—like having a personal concierge. Org helped with our luggage, which was no easy task, and both were always available to ensure we had everything we needed. Skiathos has a wonderful small-village feel, with some of the friendliest people we’ve met. A must-visit destination, and we would gladly stay here again.

The perfect stay in beautiful Skiathos
Liked: Had a truly wonderful week here at Villa Atheno with my new Fiancé. Karen and Org were the perfect hosts. They both were so welcoming and helpful and fully able to answer any question you may have. The room was very clean and tidy and facilities were brilliant. Air con and bathroom were lovely and the view on the balcony was 10/10. Had a small kitchen with fridge and freezer which was perfect for putting any drinks or food in. The gardens around the villa were so beautiful and well kept. Upon arrival it was great to sit down with Karen and Org who gave us a map and pointed out the best beaches to go to, quad/car rental and also had some great food recommendations. A really lovely couple who couldn't do enough to make your trip perfect which paired well with the stunning views from the room. 100% coming back.
Disliked: With great view comes a great hill. Luckily only €10 taxi will get you from town right up to your doorstep
Tranquil, beautiful and comfortable option
Liked: Outstanding choice for a visit to Skiathos and for a number of reasons. First, the location is awesome -- the Villa is close to the beach (you can hear that waves crashing at night) but not on it, which is great because the beach is full of hotels that are themselves full of people. Villa Athena is tranquil and peaceful. I also like that it is close to town, but not in town. Second, the studio itself is really spacious (much more than you can tell from the photos) and really nicely appointed. It felt like a luxury accommodation. I watched the sunset from my private balcony every night and it was magical. Third is the host. I had trouble getting a taxi from the port because taxi drivers were only taking passengers to the airport, and called Karen who managed to send me a taxi driver quickly. She also had awesome recommendations for what to do and where to go on the island (the Kastro especially as a must-see), which I followed to the letter. I thought I would like Skopelos more than Skiathos, but in fact it has been the opposite and I realize this is largely due to Villa Athena!
