    Okay but not worth staying

Liked: Location to centro, size, space of room and excellent air-conditioning

Disliked: Host was not prompt to respond and not sure she was even in the town to support her clients staying at the property. QR code to get into apartment was not effective and we were locked out of apartment for nearly 1 hour on the last day as the QR code had been deactivated prior to the scheduled check out time. Not sure owner was confident with the QR code technology as we had requested a late check out but she couldnt reprogram the QR code to support this. Tried to call owner with no response. Thankfully I approached a neighbour who was friends with the owner and he arranged to deliver some keys so that we could get back into the property so we could collect our belongs and check out. Town itself was like a ghost town with no life or energy which is very different to all other towns we had stayed in scicily. It was the first town in the whole of Sicily that I felt unsafe walking around at night. I would recommend staying for a couple of hours during the weekday and instead stay in gorgeous Noto or Ragusa which is full of joy and energy no matter what time of day or day of week it is. Host should consider keys as an alternative to QR code check in.

A good place to stay and we enjoyed it but perhaps details needed just a little more attention

Liked: Great location for visiting the city

Disliked: We had to access using Q code which was sent to us but wasn't explained and then initially didn't work. Luckily someone came with keys! Lots of stairs hard work! Bathroom lights and kettle not working.

Liked: it was well furbished and had great views of sunset. It was close to everything. Antonella was very helpful with general advice about food and tourist spots, he even helped us to fix our flat tyre!

    Exceptional

Liked: This was a beautiful place to stay, comfortable and functional with lots of nice decorative touches. The host was so warm, and vivacious and responsive, and gave us lemons from their own trees! The location is fantastic...gelateria, bakery and great rosticceria just steps away (and the owner has a bar just across the street) and easy walking to the historic parts of town. The balcony is very narrow but spectacular. You know how sometimes you wonder if the pictures in an ad for a place are more generic tourist photos rather than the view from the balcony? Not in this case....you are literally looking at a gorgeous church, old streets, the hillsides....incredible.

Disliked: Not a problem for us on this trip...but this apartment is on the 4th level. Our boys carried the suitcases up the stairs and counted 53 steps.:) This is not a good choice for people with bad knees or hips. (Though that is true of most places).
