  Stupendous views, helpful host and spacious accommodation, but a car or strong legs required

  Liked: The apartment was comfortable and spacious, and the view from the terrace was stupendous. We travelled to Rapallo by train and host Cinzia kindly picked us up from the station and arranged a lift back there at the end of our stay, free of charge. Rapallo was a perfect base for exploring destinations along the coast: the Cinque Terre towns and Camogli by train, Portofino by ferry and Santa Margherita on foot, plus the cable car to the hilltop sanctuary. The bathroom, hot water and cooking/storage facilities were exellent and we liked the free coffee, tea etc. We really enjoyed our stay.

  Disliked: Not a real negative: we knew in advance that the path from the town to the apartment was steep, but with 247 double-depth steps in addition to steep slopes it was quite a challenge, even for keen walkers like us. It's fine if you have a car or use taxis though. The bed in the main bedroom was very bouncy and the sheets a bit dowdy.

  hilltop great property with an amazing sun trap view and great hosts

  Liked: the terrace with the view is wonderful at night and during the day. sizeable rooms with the kitchen at the core of the property. for a group two bathrooms are great and the host was really great. they were fine with us being a little later than expected and they helped us up to the property to unload the car. to be welcomed, helped and then given a cold beer on arrival is a lovely touch

  Disliked: the hosts and the property are great but it’s a trek up to the house sitting right at the top of the hill. it’s fine just slow work and the parking space was a bit down from the house. better for a smaller car.
