  Great location and one lovely receptionist, but poor cleanliness, no Wi-Fi, and inconsistent service

  Liked: One of the receptionists was incredibly helpful and so sweet. The AC worked well, and the sea views from the property are beautiful.

  Disliked: There was no Wi-Fi the entire stay. The other receptionist was unhelpful. I had no phone service, so I asked her for Wi-Fi help and for toilet paper and other supplies, since the room had none and hadn't been cleaned. She said okay, but nothing happened. When I came back down to ask again, she was on her phone watching TV with another staff member. The bed had hair in it when we arrived, and the bedspread was stained. The glassware and dishes were dirty. The room was dusty enough that our noses were stuffy the whole time, and we found particles in our drinking water. The pillows are small, so you'll definitely need more than one.

  Beautiful views and good location, but with some drawbacks

  Liked: The room had a sea view, exactly as booked, and was clean and spacious. Some of the facilities could use a little maintenance, but everything was exactly as shown in the photos, so there were no unpleasant surprises. There was also plenty of hot water with no issues at all. The hotel is close to the railway line, as are most hotels in this area, so it is normal to hear trains passing by. However, this did not interfere with my rest or sleep. The hotel also has a lovely swimming pool with a beautiful view over Taormina, which was a great feature. The location is very convenient, around a 10-minute walk from the funicular, with Spisone Beach also within walking distance.

  Disliked: Parking at the hotel is very limited and costs €25 per night. We ended up parking our rental car on the road, and on the third day, the outer plastic cover of one of the side mirrors was stolen. This meant we lost most of our morning reporting the theft and damage to the police. Another downside is pedestrian access to the hotel. You have to walk along a winding main road with no pavement, while cars and motorbikes pass very close by, which felt extremely unsafe. Guests are also not allowed to bring outside food into the hotel. Finally, breakfast costs €12 per person and, in my opinion, it was nothing special and not really worth the price.

  This is not a 4-star hotel, and at best an OK 3-star hotel

  Liked: location and view from the restaurant at breakfast

  Disliked: The hotel was tired and old, although we did have newly renovated rooms which were nice. The pool area and pool bar/restaurant had tired and weathered furniture making it rather unappealing. This is not a 4-star hotel. The road immediately outside the hotel that you needed to walk along to get to the centre was very dangerous with no dedicated footpath.

  Liked: The staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The balcony view was spectacular. The breakfast was good and the location was very convenient as it was walking distance to the cable car into Taormina and close to other restaurants, cafes & beaches.

  Disliked: My bed was not the most comfortable.
