  Warm and welcoming B&B on top of Taormina, a very interesting place with amazing views

  Liked: The location, facilities, decor, and the staff - who were very welcoming, thoughtful and helpful.

  Disliked: The bed could be more comfortable.

  We had a fantastic stay at Villa Almoezia! Comfortable and private

  Liked: Even though we showed up early, Sebastian welcomed us warmly and pleasantly! The grounds were large, including a beautiful pool with the most fantastic view you can imagine:) We had a very comfortable room with two large doors on two sides which let in a lot of light, including a small balcony. Don’t let the outside fool you, it is so nice behind the gate! Sebastian had lots of information about the area that he shared, including info about getting the bus down into town or up to Castelmola, but we walked of course (so many stairs and steep paths in Taormina). There are a couple restaurants within very close walking distance, and also a street side bar serving beer and a few drinks. Sebastian even helped us secure a parking spot right outside the hotel, where we left the car for the two days we were there. There was a great view of Mt Etna from the street outside the hotel.

  Disliked: Driving up to the location was tricky, very narrow streets and Sicilian drivers of course!

  A perfect end to a wonderful week soaking up the Sicilian sunshine and hospitality

  Liked: Sebastiano and his family were excellent hosts and gave us a lot of very useful local information. The setting is as beautiful as the pictures, set high on a hill, and feels very traditional. The rooms had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace was fantastic. It felt private and homely and we’d definitely return.

  Disliked: There was nothing we didn’t like!

  A long walk to the centre, but lovely host. A little too pricey for location

  Liked: Lovely host. Rustic rooms and location.

  Disliked: Location is far from the centre of Taormina. yes its a 10 min walk downhill! we never tried the uphill. perhaps if it was a cheaper price it would help the rating, very expensive for the distance from centre.

  Relaxing with breathtaking views and incredible hosts. Perfect place to stay if you want a relaxing break with the optio

  Liked: The views were breathtaking. It was removed from the craziness of the centre of Taormina. Sebastiano and his wife were very welcoming and laid back. The pool was always accessible, even at midnight, after the hot, sweaty walk up from the centre! It felt very traditional and more of a taste of the real Sicily than staying in the centre as we have done previously.

  Disliked: I have no complaints about the property at all. Some advice would be to hire mopeds for easy access at all times. We did this for part of our stay and wished that we had done it from the start. The steps can be used to reach Taormina and I'd say that 10 minutes down and 20 up was accurate as we are fit and able but it was so hot! The buses were useful, but not always reliable. The last one left the centre at 10 55, which was usually half way through dinner when we got into Sicilian life!
