A spacious and charming Riad with a very personal atmosphere

Liked: The Riad is beautifully decorated in a traditional Moroccan style, and our suite was very spacious. The large living room and bedroom are connected, providing plenty of space to relax. On the other side of the room, there is access to a small rooftop courtyard. Although it is technically a rooftop space, it does not really feel like one. The owner has decorated the walls with many plants and flowers, making it feel much more like a ground-level courtyard. We found this quite charming and interesting. The neighborhood where the Riad is located is not particularly lively, but it is very quiet. The only minor drawback is that there are not many restaurants nearby, although you can find quite a few restaurants within a 10–15 minute walk. Parking is available on the street directly outside the Riad. There is someone looking after the cars at night, and we simply gave him a small tip of 10 Moroccan dirhams per night. The owner and his family live directly opposite our suite. The host speaks excellent English, while the older lady in the family—possibly his mother—speaks French but not English. Since I don't speak French, when the host was away, his son, who I believe is still in primary school, kindly acted as our English interpreter. Together with a translation app on our phone, we were still able to communicate without any real problems. It was a very warm and memorable experience. Breakfast can be arranged with the host. It was not the most generous breakfast we had during our trip around Morocco, but it was still very good and reasonably priced. We simply agreed on a time with the host, and his family brought the breakfast to our room at the agreed time in the morning. Overall, this is a spacious and comfortable place with a lovely traditional atmosphere, and the warmth of the host and his family made our stay particularly memorable.

    Liked: Exotic decor Spacious

Disliked: English speaking owner 600 miles away. Wife at property nice but difficult to communicate. On arrival room unheated with no instruction for heater. Bed lumpy. Location dismal. Just not pleasant for me. Rest of reservation canceled. They were kind enough to refund. Nice people but property did not work for me

Didn’t even stay. Got straight out of there into a very nice hotel and glad I did

Liked: Unfortunately, though the host was very nice, the place was basically a dump, sorry to say. So much so that I came in and sat down on the bed and immediately booked a nice hotel. This place may be OK if you are 20 and travelling rough but no way for a grown person. The area was on edge of the city, run down, industrial, not at all a neighborhood. I do not recommend at all.

    Disliked: All of it.
