Very good
Location is superb but the wood smoke from the Hamman was not not great
Liked: The location of Dar Rafik is worth a 10! Superb near the entrance of the city, there are shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. The size of the rooms (we had two, one at the front, one at the back) was good. The breakfast on the rooftop is lovely - however there is no cover so if it rains I presume you have to take it to your room.
Disliked: We had two main issues. One is there is a Hamman at the back of the Dar - see pictures. So after two nights all my clothes smelled like I've been sitting next to a wood fire and the smell does stick. There is nothing that Dar Rafik can do about this - but I found this pretty uncomfortable. Also, we came by car from Fez. I sent a few messages about parking via booking.com but never received a reply. When sending a whatsapp in the number on the confirmation, I got an immediate reply. However, the parking was apparently not available anymore so we had to go with some men on the street and park it next to residential housing (see photo - parking is free everywhere but very limited on the street). We were told parking was MAD30/night - they wanted MAD100 so I went back with the men to the Dar were the lady owner / manager told the men it was MAD30 per night and good luck. She was not very helpful otherwise - but did send a whatsapp every evening asking what time we wanted our breakfast. Which another lady made and that was delicious. The bed was also extremely hard - the only one of our 5 different stays in Morocco.
Liked: Location and breakfast
Disliked: Carry luggage up and down...no assistance. Had to get help from locals from around and tip them a lot
Liked: Location, right in front of the medina entrance. Comfortable place to stay in Chefchaouen.
Disliked: No comments
Liked: Lovely place, the room was really cozy and comfortable, everything was clean. The terrace where we used to have breakfast had a lovely view and the breakfast was really tasty. The lady working there, the ones that prepare breakfast too, she's really kind and gentle.
Disliked: The area is noisy, you can hear children shouting outside. Luckily we were at the last floor so it was better. The worst honestly was that all the building was really noisy, you could hear a lot from 7am, doors of neighboors, the staff moving chairs and tables on the terrace that was on our room where we had breakfast, people walking on stairs, so I used to wake up with noises quite early. This is the aspect I didn't like, so it's not perfect if you are sensitive to any noise. And the bathroom sink did not drain water quickly.
Never again
Liked: Location
Disliked: We had to wait 90 minutes outside a closed door until owner turned up. Tried repeatedly to phone. No reply. It is a guest house NOT a 4 star hotel. No reception.
For 1-2 nights its Ok
Liked: Location
Disliked: The carpet in the room was not clean. The breakfest all the same.
