Exceptional
An unforgetable stay...must experience this homely stay
Liked: Excellent location perfect hosts and a home like feeling. I was traveling solo and also working remotely and this hostel was amazing find during my trip. Loved my time there and recommend to other travelers. Special thanks to Reda and Ayoub for everything. I would like to mention, I had to leave early for a day tour and Ayoub even packed a breakfast for me, doesn't get better than this. Thank you so much for amazing hospitality.
Disliked: Everything was perfect and ideal for comfortable stay
Nice place to stay on a budget
Liked: - Big rooms - Good location, near the main street - Affordable!
excelent
Liked: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay at Riad Dar Sahrawi! Everything was excellent! Ayoub is such a kind and welcoming person, and his friend was also very nice. Ayoub is a very hands-on owner who never seems to stop working. He is always cleaning, checking everything, and making sure the place is well maintained. You can really see how much he cares about his hostel. The hostel is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near everything, making it easy to explore Marrakech. The hospitality and service made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Riad Dar Sahrawi to anyone visiting Marrakech! 🇲🇦❤️ Thank you, Ayoub, for your kindness and excellent hospitality. I truly appreciate everything! 🙏✨
Disliked: nothing’s
Everything was great
Liked: Possible to take a taxi directly to the door. Location isn't too far from the main sites. Clean. Nice rooftop
Disliked: The room is about 45+ degrees at night because that's just how the building is designed and the climate, but there is only 1 fan provided for 3 beds. It would be inexpensive and well worth it to get 2 more fans. Wasn't comfortable because cleaning was constant. They also seem to use about 8x the amount of cleaning products necessary so there is often a strong chemical stench. The weirdest thing for me was one day I came back and couldn't find my laundry bag. It turns out someone had actually taken it upon themselves to open my backpack and put the laundry bag inside. This was too much. Never has my bag been opened in a hostel. To clarify, my stuff wasn't spread out either. I had one luggage against the wall with my packing cubes stacked neatly on top, my vitamins and toiletries on the nightstand, and under the bed I placed my backpack so it was out of the way and my laundry bag was on top of it.
Comfortable with one major caveat
Liked: Breakfast was excellent (by far the best I’ve had) and the staff were very kind. The owner does his best to keep the property as clean as possible. He has a tad bit of OCD type tendencies and, at face value, the hostel seemed very clean. The location is adequately placed in the main tourist areas. The four bedroom dorm has AC, which is a huge plus in the summer.
Disliked: I woke up with over 40 bed bug bites. The owner kept saying over and over again that I must have brought them from Merzouga (the desert), which is known for having bed bugs. However, I found them in two beds in the four bed dormitory, which were on opposite sides of the room and 40+ bed bug bites had to have come from at least 12 bed bugs, as they only feed around three times per night. I couldn’t imaging bringing 12 bed bugs with me and them scattering across the room in one night. Another guest, who is a tour guide in Morocco agreed with me and says it is very common for Moroccan hostels to have them. So a lesson learned: always check for bed bugs on your hostel stays here.
