Exceptional
What an Amazing stay in an Amazing place!
Liked: The Riad itself is completely different to many and carries a grown up, stylish and oppulent decor. The staff are all fantastic and can't do enough to help. With the wonderful Ghizlane at the helm there's no wonder everyone and everything is all about perfection. She has infectious energy and knowing that it was our 1st time in Marrakech, greeted us and then provided a full guide around the city map with suggestions of things to do and where to go. This made us feel very welcome as well as excited to explore.. Our room was perfectly appointed, the bar with exceptional cocktails with in house mixologist (forgot to ask his name, but great smile!). Both restaurants La Pergola and Le Bistro Arabe have great food and are a destination... must book in advance especially with Le Bistro Arabe as every night there was a queue. The jazz band each night was special, vibrant and entertaining... if you can get the best table (for 2) in the house facing the band you will not regret it. One last mention goes out to the newest member of the Riad Monceau team, Issam, he is and will be an asset to the team. We can't wait to come back already.....
Loved our stay here, would highly recommend, our hot tub room was amazing!
Liked: Loved the jazz band, hotel was very clean, staff were very helpful
A fantastic weekend in a great music venue
Liked: Great music and excellent food in the Bistro - made my birthday weekend a huge success. The staff were very kind and helpful. Only a few minutes from the main square, so a fabulous location.
Disliked: Poor service in the Caravan bar. Breakfast was not great - lack of choice or variety. There is no common area for relaxing during the day (that we found.) A tour of the Riad would have helped.
Best place to staff in Marrakesh
Liked: Amazing!
Disliked: Staff, accommodation, food, service and fun
Nice hotel, but dirty in the common areas. Not a 5 star hotel
Liked: Beautiful place nice room good position. Most of the staff was nice.
Disliked: The hotel's common areas were unclean; there was a constant, terrible odor outside my room—a mix of food smells and general filth. The stairs and walls leading to the rooms were dirty and scuffed. People coming in from outside for dinner were seated on our floor as well, causing confusion and encroaching on the space and peace of mind of the guests staying there. There was no regard for the guests or their tranquility—certainly not what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The hotel is full of cats sleeping inside the building—on sofas, chairs, and tables where dinner is served, and even in the kitchen. I saw the concierge feeding a cat from a can right on the reception desk with my own eyes; he moved it away as soon as he noticed me approaching. There is absolutely no concern for cleanliness or for people allergic to cat dander. A staff member was very rude to us, swearing in Arabic; the incident was reported to the management, and he was friendlier the next day. However, on the morning of our departure, when he walked us to the taxi, he displayed the same hostile attitude.
A beautiful little find in a place of madness 🩷
Liked: Most beautiful little find, the rooms were stunning.
Disliked: Nothing
Good to know
Guests MUST be duely informed that Riad Monceau is a music hotel to avoid misunderstanding then complaints. We suggest the following presentation:
Founded on a unique "jazz hotel, restaurant & spa" concept, Riad Monceau offers an experience like no other.
Located just 328 feet from the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, and one of the most beautiful Arab-Andalusian palaces in the city of Marrakech, Riad Monceau brings together four establishments with music and jazz as their central theme.
A boutique hotel & spa with 9 rooms, first and foremost, offering the comfort and services that discerning travelers expect from a charming 5-star hotel.
There's also a gourmet restaurant, Le Bistro Arabe, organized around the riad's central patio and pool, where some of the continent's best jazz musicians perform every evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Higher up, on the rooftop terrace, is La Pergola, the first rooftop to be created in Marrakech, and one of the city's most popular venues. It's a must-see for jazz lovers and, more generally, epicureans looking for quality yet relaxed dining.
Finally, a more intimate affair is Caravan, a cocktail bar where Hanane, Morocco's only head bartender, expertly mixes the ultimate cocktails.
Romantic as you wish, charming, proud of a positioning as qualitative as festive, the Riad Monceau is therefore aimed at a clientele likely to appreciate a certain effervescence until around 11 p.m., time at which the restaurants and the bar close their doors, and moment from which the riad finds the tranquility that befits a charming hotel. The only sounds that can then be heard are those of the birds that populate the immense palm trees that adorn the patio, as well as the abundant vegetation on the terraces, making the "Monceau" the incredible oasis that has earned it its nickname of "nest for lovers" for 20 years now. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance.
