Exceptional
Like the owner told me on the first day, for this price range, this is what you get!
Liked: That Riad Syba is born out of love, is clearly seen. Lots of small things have been taken care of - There is a pool, which is extremely rare in this price range, and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The breakfast is PHENOMENALLY good. Mustapha and the boy at the reception were very sweet and attentive to my needs. The bathroom was also very large and well decorated and stocked. And all of this comes at a very reasonable price.
Disliked: The one fundamental unfixable problem is the location. Although this is technically part of a market, this is far outside the main medina area. Like a local guide told me - "That is NOT a Riad. You are living in a VERY LOCAL area man, this is where I grew up and outside your place is the school I studied!". While technically this might be a Riad, for practical purposes for travellers, you are expecting to step out into the main tourist area, not into a local market. In addition to that the room that I stayed was very small. Also it was quite dark. To light up somewhat you need to put the extra light, but that means there is NO power socket to plug in anything else in the entire room. The light switch in the bathroom is far inside the room, which doesn't make any sense. Again, all of this comes at a very reasonable price.
Liked: Very clean, it is even more nice than pictures, people working are all realy nice and helpful.
Lovely Riad, but it was too far out of the main city for us
Liked: Lovely cool calm and clean property
Disliked: It was too far out of the main area and we struggled to get a taxi home on an evening.
Incredible
Liked: Loved the ambiance, pool and decor.
Disliked: A little bit far from most places.
A great find... Lovely stay
Liked: We had a wonderful 3 night stay. The manager, Mustapha was friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. The beautiful decor created lovely atmosphere and our room was comfortable and quiet. A lovely place to stay - we'd happily return.
Disliked: Not something bad, but be aware you have to get bus or taxi to centre of town. Mustapha gave great advice and we got no. 6 bus from main road outside to the medina.
Friendly, accommodating and safe
Liked: The staff were very friendly and accommodating, made us feel like home Food was lovely too.
Disliked: I’m. Or used to sleeping on hard mattress but you do get used to it quickly. Climbing stairs was a little issue but this is not the fault of the Riad but an injured knee. Staff were very good at carrying my luggage to my room.
