  Nice place!

Liked: Very friendly people. Nice, large and clean room.

Disliked: There was no soap dish in the shower. Also, some kettle to make tea inside the room would be a great improvement.

Great stay at the College Hotel in Alkmaar

Liked: We had a good stay in the College Hotel in Alkmaar. The hotel is situated in a great location with easy access to the city of Alkmaar, shops and restaurants. The staff were very nice and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms are spacious and well maintained; the hotel has a clean environment and serves a good breakfast.

Disliked: Although there is parking on-site (paid), it is not always easy to find a spot. One improvement in the room we would recommend is to install a hotel safe for guests.

Friendly, accommodating Hotel in a super location

Liked: From start to finish it was excellent. I arrrived early and the lady facilitated an early check in. I explained that I had to work all day in Alkmaar and would not return to the hotel till very late, she went out of her way to walk me through how I would access the hotel after normal closing hours. Overall experience was excellent. Comfy bed and spotless room.

Disliked: It would have been better if there had been a small fridge in the room. But this would not stop me from staying here again.

  Beautiful Alkmaar

Liked: A truly wonderful hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by its strategic location and excellent service. We highly recommend booking here. We would also like to point out that the photos on the website do not accurately reflect the hotel's true beauty, the lovely rooms, and the sophisticated service. Thank you very much.

A great choice if you're staying in Alkmaar for any reason

Liked: Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jasmine at reception, who was genuinely one of the most friendly and welcoming hotel staff members I’ve encountered. She went above and beyond: providing helpful information about the city and local sights, assisting us with an early check-in, and clearly taking a sincere interest in us as guests. I appreciated how they preserved the school-themed aesthetic, which ties in nicely with the hotel’s namesake. The hotel and our room were spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the soaps provided in the shower smelled fantastic. Breakfast, while not overly elaborate, was fresh, tasty, and filling, with pancakes, eggs, breads, spreads and hagelslag. The location is also a big plus, being conveniently close to both the train station and the town center. Considering everything, the price-to-quality ratio felt excellent.

Disliked: There were only a couple of minor drawbacks. The freestanding shower had somewhat weak water pressure, though this was partially offset by the availability of a separate bath and shower nozzle. Additionally, the lack of a door between the bathroom and sleeping area made it difficult to keep the room dark during the bright summer nights, but this is easily managed with something like a sleep mask. All in all, this didn't impact my stay at the College Hotel.
