Exceptional
Excellent location in a car-free village
Liked: The B&B is direct next to the canal system in Giethoorn. An excellent location to experience life in a car-free village. Nonetheless, the car park where we left our vehicle was just less than 100m away from the B&B. Jan, the proprietor, together with his son, were very welcoming and explaining all that was necessary. They provided sufficient breakfast items for our stay. We could use the bicycles provided if we wish to venture around the village. They also have boats for rentals which we used one morning to travel through the canals and to the nearby lake. What an experience! This car-free village in Giethoorn is a must visit for all visitors who can. But it does get touristy and busy when the day visitors come to visit the village So staying at Bed & Bike De Hofstee was the perfect place, as we get to roam around the village in the early mornings or evenings when the day visitors are gone. There was an excellent pizzeria where I had my favourite linguini vangole. Tasty! And fantastic view sitting outside. We managed to escape the heatwave that was passing through southern Europe.
Disliked: The bed could be "comfyier", but this is just me as I rarely get good mattresses in places where I stayed. Otherwise, all pluses only, no minuses.
Liked: Every thing was perfect! Location was excellent!
Disliked: The room didn’t get warm enough.
Liked: Being right in the centre made everything so easy to access, and having bikes included was such a bonus for exploring the area. They offer everything you might need to rent, which made our stay even more convenient. Truly the best place to unwind and enjoy Giethoorn.
A good stay, but the air conditioning was below expectations

Disliked: • No central air conditioning • The individual unit provided is not sufficient in the hot August weather • No private garden

Liked: Location could not be better, right in the center of the village. Standing in front of the property I did not know which way to look - landscaping in each direction is so beautiful. Lots of restaurants to choose from, all of them within walking distance.
Disliked: There was nothing I didn’t like.
