  Obnoxious owner refuses to provide linens for sofa bed

  Liked: Appeared to be clean and neat.

  Disliked: We are two straight gentlemen. We found the property on Booking.com at the last minute. We knew the price. We arrived and rang the bell, intending to inquire about booking directly with property. Were told through the Ring doorbell that we should use a booking service. In the period between talking to the person on the doorbell and the time we called up the room on Booking.com, the price went up by roughly 50 Euros. We nonetheless booked a room with one queen bed and one sofa bed. When we contacted the property through its web app and asked for linens for the sofa bed, we were told that they would not be provided -- that they are available only to parties of three -- that the queen-sized bed was sufficient for two people. We were offered another room, which we declined. We asked to speak to the property representative, or to meet face-to-face. That request was declined. (We had used their self check-in service.) As we sat in disbelief (it was 18:30 by then), we were offered a free cancellation, which we grudgingly accepted. Bizzarre.

  Nice hotel if you are not adverse to electronic gadgets

  Liked: Clean, well furnished and spacious room, abundant and good quality breakfast. The hotel is well located in a quiet street with many restaurants and beach within walking distance. The suite we rented has a small kitchen, including a dishwasher, hot plate, microwave and table/kitchen utensils.

  Disliked: - Too small bathroom with no partition for the shower. - Access to the hotel and the room through an App that you must load using a link received by WhatsApp, alternatively you can use a code that is buried somewhere in the App. We arrived at 5:00 pm and there was nobody at the reception. If you are not a regular user of WhatsApp, you can easily miss the message. There is a bell and a video camera, which we used (I had not seen the message) and somebody answer and tried to explain to me the whole system. A very frustrating experience. - All light functions, closing of the curtains, heating, request for cleaning the room and changing towels work using the same App on your cellphone. There is a backup with keyboards on the walls, but the whole system requires reading the instructions and sometimes result and weird functions. Definitely not for people that are reluctant to spend much time on their phones... - Forget about parking in the street, all parking is paying by credit card at 7 euro/hr, assuming you can use the paying machine that speaks Dutch only. The hotel has no parking facility, so it is strongly recommended to use the third party service they offer (15 euro/day).

  Overall my stay was excellent and I would stay there again anytime I visit The Netherlands

  Liked: I liked the authenticity and the family atmosphere. The owner Harry and his daughter were outstanding in their quest to ensure that we had a wonderful experience. I liked the location.

  Disliked: I didn’t like the stairway and I believe for future quests it would be helpful if they were aware of the steepness. I also found that the description of the hotel listed an oven and there wasn’t one and that was misleading.

  Disliked: Complicated system to get to the parking and into the suit. It would be easier to know the nuances before arrival.

  Liked: Convenient to station, quiet & comfortable. 5 min walk to beach.

  Disliked: Slight hiccup getting checked in, entry code never came thru. Never saw anyone after first night.
