Friendly and handy for transport but facilities could be improved

Liked: The room had a cute old-fashioned look, good size, very clean, balcony overlooking square. Comfortable bed, friendly staff. Metro and tram stops nearby (inc. the iconic Number 28). We enjoyed having breakfast at the traditional neighbourhood cafés.

Disliked: Only 1 x shower for 6 double rooms so every morning there were queues. Bring your ear plugs (busy neighbours and street traffic).

Terrible Conditions, Problematic Facilities – Do Not Recommend

Liked: Location. The room was fine.

Disliked: The bathroom was in an absolutely terrible state. There was black mould on the walls, flaking paint, and the bathtub was covered in orangeish stains (possibly rust). It’s shocking that anyone could charge people to stay in such conditions. After complaining to the owner, we were offered access to a different bathroom on another level. Unfortunately, that one wasn’t much better—the shower often didn’t work properly, with the water either boiling hot or freezing cold. On top of that, it was a fixed showerhead, which meant you couldn’t avoid getting your hair wet every time. The place was also loud at night, as there seemed to be some kind of club near the property. Additionally, the kitchen had strange rules about using it if you wanted to cook. We only stayed because we had prepaid trips booked and no time to find alternative accommodation. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

Nice rooms in the heart of Lisbon, right next to the iconic tram 28

Liked: Extremely kind and helpful hosts, very atmospheric rooms with a unique vibe, in a great location. Felt just like a local!

Disliked: Bathroom could do with a bit of renovation
