Disliked: Everything was nice
Liked: The apartment truly exceeded our expectations. Starting from the host, she was very easy to reach at all times (even late at night once when we needed her) and was quick to facilitate us with whatever was needed. The place is also at a quite convenient location only 2 metro stops away from the center and right next to two bars and one night shop. Because our room's window was looking at the other side of the street we didn't experience any noise problems from the bars as others have mentioned in their reviews. Both the bathroom and the bedroom were quite clean and overall the apartment was nicely decorated. We didn't use the kitchen but it is quite big and has multiple appliances.
Disliked: The bedroom we stayed at was a bit small so there wasn't much space to move around, but we didn't stay at home much so this wasn't an issue. We personally didn't experience any problems because the people staying at the same time as us were very discreet and quite, but generally it's not super soundproof.
Comfortable and clean stay with a welcoming host, convenient transport and amenities
Liked: The host was very kind and welcoming. The location was convenient, with a bus stop, subway station, and Lidl supermarket all nearby. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I especially appreciated that the bed was professionally made with soft cotton covers and good mattress protection. There were electrical outlets on both sides of the bed, which was practical and comfortable, and the small balcony was a nice touch. The apartment is located a bit far from the city center, and since Lisbon is very hilly, walking back can be tiring, although public transport nearby makes it manageable. There is also a bar underneath the apartment that stays open until around 1 a.m and it creates like atmosphere. The sound proof windows and wooden shutters help reduce the noise somewhat, but it is still audible. The kitchen was well-equipped, but it is quite small and only comfortably fits two people at a time. One minor inconvenience was that there was no power outlet in or near the bathroom for using a hair dryer, so I had to use the outlet next to the bed instead. Overall, it was a comfortable and clean stay with a friendly host, but guests who are sensitive to noise should keep the sound insulation issue in mind.
Disliked: The apartment is on the first floor without an elevator, which may be difficult for some guests. The biggest downside was the noise insulation. Since it is an old Lisbon flat, the room doors are not soundproof at and even have noticeable gaps around the edges, so sounds from the corridor can be heard very clearly. The corridor parquet floors are also old and creaky, which adds to the noise when people walk by. Our room door itself also creaked loudly. I think replacing or improving the room doors would significantly help reduce the noise issue and make the stay much more comfortable for guests.
Liked: The host was really friendly and welcomed us. The apartment is nice, located close to the public transport. We were also able to walk to Lisbon's main attractions. It offers good value for the money spent.
Disliked: In the evening it gets noisy from the pubs downstairs, if you're ok with it it shouldn't be an issue, it doesn't go through the entire night.
Liked: Very nice and comfortable place to stay. Close to the city center by walk or by metro. I will stay here again..
