Our stay at Vila Velha Guest House was one of the best we’ve ever had
Liked: Our stay at Vila Velha Guest House was one of the best we’ve ever had. We enjoyed every moment. The beautiful, clean, and spacious house had everything you could wish for. The fridge was well stocked for breakfast, there was good coffee, and plenty of space for a family to spread out. We stayed in touch with the host via WhatsApp, and his mother met us with the keys and gave us a tour of the house. There is some parking a short walk away, but we sometimes left the car in the public car park by Hotel Museu, close to the town centre. Be prepared for some uphill and downhill walking — you should be reasonably mobile when staying in Mértola. We enjoyed exploring the town on foot and spotted some lovely birds along the river walk. We would love to come back!

Wonderful couple of days with a good friend, really well appointed, well stocked home
Liked: Wonderful location, fabulously well equipped house. Very comfortable with everything you need for a short or long stay, I will be back with family and friends.
Disliked: Nothing honestly this was a great location, in the middle of Mertola.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the guest house and would highly recommend it to others
Liked: The guest house felt like being home. All that was needed and more was provided for. Having some food items such as bread, cheese and meat was a great idea. Ana’s homemade jam was a special treat. The hosts responded quickly and were helpful in getting our car parked and acquainting us with the house. The location, being in the old town, was excellent for enjoying the tower and the museums.
Lovely apartment in historic centre
Liked: Great apartment that exceeded expectation. Much larger than claimed floor area with lots of space and all facilities. Comfortable bed and good sitting area. Lots of space to spread out. Highly recommended.
Disliked: Very little, the property lacks any outside space and parking is a bit of a challenge in a historic town centre.
