Besalu is a magical treasure and we loved our 5 night stay!
Liked: We spent 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay! Besalu is a fantastic base for exploring the area around it. The town is just loveky with just the right amount of liveliness for someone looking for personality but not a busy town. Besalu is magical and so lovely enjoyed after the tourists have left in the evening. The apartment is gorgeous, centrally located in a lovely village square but extremely quiet. The deck was an absolute joy but could definitely use some shade cover added as there’s no way we could have sat out there on a hot day.
Disliked: There definitely needs a shade cover added to the deck. The apartment is such a great experience and so well maintained and designed that this should be a priority to add for the comfort of guests during the hot season.
Lovely apartment in a lovely town
Liked: Great location (the car park is a bit of a hike if you have lots of luggage) and lovely, spacious apartment with a fantastic terrace, amazing views and lots of light. We never met the owners but they were very friendly and available via whatsapp.
Disliked: Kitchen is a bit under equipped - no wine glasses for example. There was only one, small tea towel and no cloth at all to wipe down surfaces. The TV was a nightmare - default language French and you have to synchronise the TV channels every time you use it. Also only 5 hangers in the enormous wardrobe.

Liked: In a medieval building right on one of the main squares, the apartment is modern and very stylish, definitely the best view in Besalu with a terace to enjoy. Everything is modern, high quality and very comfortable. Lift goes directly to the apartment. Parking is outside the old city walls, only 3 min walk. we had a relaxing stay in the old village - which is a magical place, especially in the evenings, when the tour buses are gone. Highly recommended.
