Exceptional
An amazing stay in an incredibly interesting building
Liked: Our host Joan was amazing and extremely helpful and informative, always responding very quickly to my questions. It was very much appreciated. Thank you Joan for all your recommendations and help:). The property location for us was perfect, and we appreciated the rustic feel to the renovation, and the sympathetic decor. The size of the outdoor space was good for us and felt quite private. It was nice to sit out for short periods of time. The property was equipped very well, and had everything we needed for a short stay. The layout for us was also amazing with 3 good size bedrooms. We would certainly recommend this property and definitely stay here again for another short 4 day trip. Besalu is a beautiful example of a medieval town, with an incredible amount of restaurants, cafes, bars and bakeries. We loved it.
Disliked: All in all, we had a wonderful time, but there are a few things that would have made our stay more enjoyable, but only a couple of things we didn't like. We would have liked some comfortable garden furniture to lounge in the garden for short periods of time. Like others have mentioned, the property would really benefit from having some type of mosquito nets on windows so they could be opened from time to time to air the place. The mattresses for all of us (one lightweight person and 2 studier people) were a bit too firm, but certainly not a deal breaker. A hook for the shower head would have been great to function as up and over, rather than having to hold in hand. The 2 things that we didn't like that could probably be rectified fairly easily, would be 1) the lack of hooks to hang things like towels and clothes and bags. Could easily attach some to the wooden sides of the clothes storage areas. The twin room could definitely do with more hooks for hanging clothes. 2) wiping up the water from the bathroom floor after every shower. The shower door needs to be better sealed.
One of my best stays ever…
Liked: This is the one of the best stays we’ve had during our trips all over Europe. The house is so rustic and yet well furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for me to cook simple meals. The beds were also comfortable and it was so nice to sit outside in the morning listening to the sound of the river outside. The house is also located in a charming village where you can easily explore by foot and the castle and bridge nearby is extremely quaint. Absolutely loved this house!

Liked: House was beautiful and comfortable. Lots of sitting area outside. Very private and quiet but quick access to town for supplies/dining. Great place!
Disliked: Be aware of narrow curving stairs for those with mobility issues.
