Lost its charm a little since Melia took over

Liked: Location is great and the apartments have a friendly vibe. Been here before and it’s a great base to navigate the resort. Staff are friendly and considerate and we even got a birthday message which was a lovely touch. The staff clearly work hard.

Disliked: Since Melia have taken over the standards have dropped. It’s lost its charm a little, the pool bar shuts at 5pm, the snack bar closes at 3pm and housekeeping is every other day (you don’t even get clean towels daily). Bedding and towels are washed out and a bit grey, we had to check to see if they were clean. It’s a budget apartment so as long as it’s clean we are ok, but I think Melia have taken over and are trying to save money as opposed to ensuring guest experience is spot on. They need to reconsider housekeeping and clean towels daily. We have stayed before Melia took over and although basic, it was spotless. A bit of a shame to see it deteriorate a little. Would we stay again? Yes, but only if other options were not viable. I’d probably look elsewhere first.
