Exceptional
Friendly, modern hotel with great food
Liked: A lovely friendly hotel to arrive at after a week in mountain huts. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast had good variety and was very relaxed. We also ate dinner at the hotel and that was tasty and reasonable value. We visited in mid August and can imagine that the place has much more atmosphere during winter.
Disliked: The double room was great with a bath/ shower and tea / coffee facilities. The twin room seemed less well designed and equipped - although our teenagers were not put out by that.

Liked: Mountain location, breakfast, small restaurant, friendly staff, safe car park, privacy, surroundings (walks with mountain and waterfall/ river views), local to lake with kayaking, local to main town with shops, restaurants and an open air pool (10 min drive), etc, etc! Perfect if you like the outdoors with amazing scenery.
Disliked: Views in the attic family room were through roof skylights only, which were restricted by external shutters being around 80% closed due to the heatwave (if the shutters were open it would have been ok)! Would recommend the lower level rooms with balcony views.
Great example of how to run a hotel
Liked: Absolutely everything. Peaceful location, immaculately clean, wonderful staff, comfortable spacious room, great food (had breakfast and dinner), safe parking. We were looked after brilliantly by Judith, who although very busy serving lunches and drinks on our arrival got us checked in and explained everything we needed to know and assured us she would be there at any time we needed assistance. Brilliant hard working lady and her family/colleagues made our stay the most enjoyable on our journey. Everything about Lo Paller is 10/10. The focus of the staff is customer satisfaction and they provide it in spades.

A great hotel in the Spanish Pyrenees
Liked: A wonderful family-run hotel! We stayed there before and after doing the Carros de Foc trek, and it served as a great base for us, as it is located just a 15 minutes drive from Espot, where the trek starts. They even kept our luggage for a whole week while we were trekking. We were a family of 5 (2 adults + 3 kids) and got a duplex-room: on the lower floor - the living room with 1 single bed, and on the upper floor - 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 separate beds. There were 2 bathrooms, 1 on each floor, and a small refrigirator. The room was clean and tidy, with plenty of storage space, and was quite spacious. We were on a half-board basis: Breakfast was a buffet of bread with cheese and other spreads, cakes, coffee/tea/juice etc. Dinner was a fixed menu, which changed every evening, from which we could chose a first dish, a main dish and desert. All in all - the food was very tasty. The staff was extremely nice, especially Judith, who was so kind and thoughtful, and spoke very good English. There's also free parking for the hotel guests. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!
Disliked: Only thing to take into consideration, for whom it matters - there isn't an elevator in the hotel.
