Exceptional
A rare gem of antiquity set in a stunning location
Liked: A rare gem of antiquity set in a stunning location
Disliked: Small bathrooms
Liked: Fabulous location, remote and peaceful while close enough to the main road and local towns. Highlights for me were having the pool all to myself with beautiful views all around, and having a picnic lunch at the snackbar (vending and coffee machines!) with sleepy cats watching.
Disliked: Breakfast was a bit chaotic at times, with food items and tableware running out. Bathroom could do with a shelf or another surface. Bedroom needs a net curtain for privacy as curtains opened into a public area so we had to keep them closed a lot.
Nice historic country stay
Liked: Beautiful old finca in the mountains. I liked our historically decorated room with a very clean bathroom. Great view from the breakfast terrace. We enjoyed the chicken Clothild to walk freely around the breakfast area.
Disliked: It’s an old building, which must be hard to keep in shape. But somehow parts of the building as well as the pool feel a little bit dated and could need a little more attention. Being a rural stay: one is in a rural setting - so everywhere you go requires at least a 5-10 minute drive. There’s nothing where you can walk to.
Excellent experience
Liked: Our stay at Hotel Las Longueras was spectacular! The hotel is very well designed and decorated, with a special style that makes it look like a museum. The rooms are large, comfortable and quiet. It has an enormous garden and is surronded by a finca so it is really nice to walk around. The breakfast is served on a terrace with a beautiful view and there is a nice swimming pool next to the eating area. The personnel is overall super kind and available. This place is perfect for solo travellers, couples, groups of friends, even with kids as they have a very cute play room with boards and other toys! The main thing to anticipate is that there is no restaurant on the hotel and in the town of Agaete restaurants tend to close early, so it is important to take this into account for late arrivals, nevertheless they have a vending machine with some cheese, tortillas and other quick snacks/packed meals, which is thoughful! Excellent experience overall, we managed to truly relax and disconnect, so we highly recommend the place and will definitely retun soon:)!!
Liked: A stunning building with unexpected history and even more stunning surroundings. Perfect spot for a quiet break or a great base for hikers. Large, high-ceiling rooms, comfy beds, nice little pool, a few minutes walk from a great local grill bar (closes at 5 PM). Really supportive and caring staff, happy to take their time and guide you through the property, but also assist with whatever query you might have. While they do not serve dinner during the low season, there's a small vending machine with some long-shelf meals, so you will not go to sleep hungry if you have nothing on you.
Disliked: The breakfast was rather simple (though we did not leave hungry), and we were disappointed with the coffee machine, hoping for a true Agaete experience.
The most peaceful & relaxing holiday in a beautiful, unspoilt place
Liked: Location was stunning & very peaceful. Staff were very friendly & helpful.
Disliked: Evening meals. No kettle or cups/mugs in the bedroom so we could make a drink. Water not freely available apart from at breakfast. Restriction on number of things we could request for breakfast.
