  Liked: I really liked the location in the historic area of the seafront. The property was the third floor of a traditional fisherman’s home bourse right on the beach. The sea views and terrace were brilliant.

  Disliked: Nothing. It was very comfortable. The only negative for some may be the steep staircase to get in. But this wasn’t an issue for me.

  Liked: The location was fantastic. Close to everything. The host was great, kept me informed and sorted things out for us when needed.

  Disliked: Seems like there's a smell from the bathroom drains, but could only be smelt in the bathroom. The Wife would have appreciated a full length mirror, somewhere.

  Fabulous position overlooking Villajoyosa beach with cafes and restaurants on your doorstep

  Liked: Balcon al Mar is in a brilliant location with fantastic views. The balcony is the best bit! We enjoyed sitting out there watching the world go by and enjoying the sunshine, when it appeared!! Even when it was rainy it was great just to watch the sea and hear the waves crashing in. The place was extremely clean and well provided with well thought out essentials...washing up liquid, loo rolls etc. A starter pack of tea bags and coffee capsules was very welcome. Communication with the owner was very prompt and all queries were answered quickly. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends but would make them aware of the steep, narrow stairs to access the flat....perhaps small suitcases would be the best option! However, to get the lovely position and fantastic view it's certainly worth the climb! We hope to go back in the future and what better recommendation can that be?!

  Disliked: As mentioned previously, slight drain smell in bathroom but these are old buildings and it wasn't an issue. Air fresheners are provided.

Please note that, as this is an old building, access to the apartment is via narrow, steep stairs, characteristic of the traditional architecture of the time. However, they may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility or large luggage.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.
