What is the old town?

The Vieille-Ville is Geneva’s oldest quarter, on the hill on the left bank: St. Pierre Cathedral, Place du Bourg-de-Four, the Town Hall and the Reformation Wall in Parc des Bastions.

Getting around from here

The English Garden, the flower clock and the Jet d’Eau are five minutes downhill by the lake, and the shops of Rue du Rhône are at the foot of the hill. Carouge, with its Italian feel, is a tram ride away.

During big congresses, the motor show and the Escalade festival (December), rooms are hard to find. There are few hotels in the old town itself, so they sell out first.
